B North Week 2

Post by Jmill1734 »

Trying out a new format as always... Got to work on the craft! Moving forward the plan is to have every week posted by Wednesday Lunch time to make the post lunch bathroom break better and a fun way to break up the week and rip on your teammates between then and the next game!

Game Scores of the week:

Dark Horse 12 - Bulldogs 9
Ball Busters 15 - Bulldogs 3
One Hit Wonders 10 - Wire2Wire 5
Swingers 13 - Doc's Irish Pub 6

Game 1: Bulldogs v Dark Horse

The pesky bulldogs get the party started in the bottom of the first with 2 runs on singles. They would follow up with a 3 run third inning as both Anthony abated and Paul Burris crushed triples. The dogs would cap their day with a bat around in the 7th as singles were the weapon of choice to plate 4 more runs. Bates and Burris were the hot hitters for the Bulldogs each going 3 for 4 with a triple and combining to score 5 runs.

Dark Horse was not deterred giving up runs early as they hammered home 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st, highlighted by doubles from Nick Maraina “sauce” and Paul Harding. They would add another run to their total in the 3rd as Dave Ketterlinus smacked a double to bring in a run. Singles would be the weapon of choice in the 5th as 2 more runs would cross and the bad boys of B North would plate 5 in the 6th inning via a triple by sauce and a double from Jordan Moffitt. Paul Harding was the darkest horse today as he went 3 for 3 with a double and 4 runs scored.

Game 2: Ball Busters v Bulldogs

The Ball Busters busted their balls early and often in this one as they plate 6 runs in the top of the first, led by a triple from Jay Stein and doubles from Mike Marcelline and Eric Cohen. They would follow that up with a monster 3rd inning scoring 9 more runs on a TON of singles and a three bagger from Branden Parker. They must’ve worn themselves out running the bases too much because that is all they could muster in this one. The Parkers busted their balls the hardest in this one as Andrew went 4 for 4 and Brendan went 3 for 4 only missing the cycle by a homer.

The Bulldogs took a late morning nap as they struggled to get up and moving in their 2nd game of the day. They would score 2 on a Spenser Slutsky double in the first and plate another in a Pete Burns double in the 6th but the offense was tough to come by. Spenser Slutsky was head of the line in this one as he went 2 for 4 with that huge double.

Game 3: Wire 2 Wire v One Hit Wonders

The podcasters used walks and ball placement to plate a run in the top of the first to take an early lead. They would follow that up with 3 runs in the 3rd on singles and another 2 runs in the 6th by way of a Tom Signore throuple. Unfortunately it was a short episode and that was all the podcasters could get going before they signed off. Sean “preppy” Butrica led the hit parade with a 2 for 3 day including a double and his hair looked great all game.

The Wonder boys played 3 in the bottom of the first via a Jack Stepnowski double and never looked back. They would add a run in a Josh Parker triple in the 2nd, and add a run on a Jared Owens double in the 3rd. In the 4th they tacked on 3 more as city Andy Springer and Jimmy “pressure” Cooker smoked doubles. Mike Harriman helped cap scoring for the day as he doubled in a run in the 6th and another double from Pressure Cooker plated a final run in the 7th. Andy Springer was king poobah going 4 for 4.

Game 4; Swingers v Docs Irish Pub

The Swingers had a silent start to the game but exploded in the 4th to the tune of 5 runs on singles and a homer from Matt “the bat” Close. They would follow that up with another 4 spot in the 6th as Mr. Close smacked a double to cap the rally. Dale Hoover roped an inside the Parker to start the 7th and back to back doubles from Dion Greene and Brian Close helped plate 3 more in the inning. Dior Greene was the hottest of the hot hitters for swingers going 4 for 4 with a double and 3 runs scored!

Docs broke through scoring a run in the bottom of the 3rd as Dylan Brookes smoked a double. They would add 3 more in the 4th on singles and walks and another two in the fifth by the same tried and true method. That was all they could muster in this one though as their 7th inning rally fell short. AJ Bagushinski was the most productive Pub goer as he smacked his way to a 3 for 5 day.
