Wire2Wire 15 - Ball Busters 14
Wire2Wire 12 - Bulldogs 7
Doc's irish Pub 10 - Dark Horse 9
One Hit Wonders 13 - Swingers 7

Game 1: Wire2Wire v Ball Busters

Wire2Wire overcame their Saturday hangovers early as a Ben Vitelli double and singles plate 3 in the top of the first. Singles would once again be the weapon of choice in the 3rd inning as the top of the order comes through, scoring 3 more runs. Just for kicks, the podcasters decided to score 3 runs every odd numbered inning to this point as they plate 3 more in the 5th, as Ben-tastic Vitelli cranked an extra base hit and scored. Breaking their own streak, they could double up in the 7th scoring 6 runs in large part due to doubles from “preppy Sean Butrica, Jeff Perrone, and big Benny V. The podcaster of the game was easily Ben-tastic Ben Vitelli as he went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, a triple, 4 runs scored and 6 RBI.

Ball Busters plated a run to cut the deficit in the bottom of the 1st as singles and a sac fly plate a run. 4 runs from 4 straight singles got the job done in the 2nd, and they would knot the score at 6 in the 3rd inning as Ken Stein doubled and scored. Another single and sac fly inning would put the Busta’s up one in the 4th. Fine as wine Jay Stein once again did damage in the 5th inning has he destroyed a two run homer. Singles and sac’s would once again be the method of scoring in the 6th and 7th as the Ball Buster’s smacked balls all over the yard to the tune of 5 runs. Bottom of the lineup guys matter as the Biggest Busta’s were Ken Stein and Tyler Cohen who each went 3 for 4 on the day combining for 4 runs and 4 RBI.

Game 2: Bulldogs v Wire2Wire

Pete Burns doubled and scored the first run of the day for the dogs in the top of the 2nd. They would follow up with a 4 run outburst in the 3rd inning highlighted by a CC Witt triple. Singles and sacs from the top of the lineup would help push across 2 more runs in the 4th but that would be all the dogs could muster in this one. The “good boy” of the game was CC Witt, who smashed his way to a 3 for 3 game with a triple. 3 RBI and a run scored.

The Podcasters did all of their damage in 3 innings as well in this one. In the 3rd inning they pushed across 3 runs as Greg Guarino roped a triple (probably to right center). Singles sometimes are more fun, as the chit Wire2Wire boys smacked a bunch plating 5 runs in the 4th. THey would add to their impressive total with 4 more runs in the 5th as singles and a Ben Vitelli two-bagger did most of the damage. The podcaster of the game was leadoff Joe Dimezza who found his way on base all 3 of his at bats with a single and two walks.

Game 3: Doc’s Irish Pub v Dark Horse

The doctor was in, in the 2nd inning as Docs plated 4 runs, led by a triple from Dylan Brooks. Dylan “the machine” Brooks once again did damage in the 3rd inning as he doubled and scored to the delight of many. While errors would push another run across in the 5th, back to back doubles from AJ Bagushinski and Austin Kooker helped score 4 in the 6th. Capping scoring for the day was a run by way of another triple from “the man, the myth, the legend” Dylan Brooks. The Irish Pub going doctor of the day was Dylan Brooks who smoked the yellow pill, going 3 for 4 with 2 triples, a double, and 3 runs scored.

Dark Horse took an early lead in this contest as Jimmy Walker doubled and scored in the bottom of the 1st. SIngles and sacs would push across 3 in the 2nd to knot the score at 4. Moving on to the 5th inning, savvy veteran Paul Ferruzzi Jr. lasered an RBI double and scored. In a late rally, the Horse’s would score 3 runs on singles and get the game tying run to 3rd base, but they were unable to plate him as a fly out and a strikeout faded the light of Sunday glory. Paul Ferruzzi Jr was the frontrunning Horse of this race as he hammered the ball all day going 3 for 3 with a double, a sac fly, and 2 runs scored.

Game 4: One Hit Wonders v Swingers

The Wonder Boys had themselves a day as they plate 3 in the first by way of doubles from Jimmy Cooker and Jared “O-dawg” Owens. They would follow up that 3 runs with 3 more on singles in the 2nd and three more in the 3rd, this time in large part due to a triple from Jason Hammer. SIngles would be the weapon of choice during the 4th and 5th inning as they push across 3 more runs in that time. Josh Parker and Jesse Grasso would trade places on doubles in the 6th scoring another run, but a base running blunder ended the rally. The most Wonderful One Hit Wonder on this day was Jason “the slammer” Hammer who went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 RBi and 2 Runs scored.

The Swangers swang their way to a run in the 1st inning on three singles to cut the deficit. After a quiet few innings, they would catch fire in the 5th inning as a triple from Matt Bachman and a double from Matt Close plate three runs. Capping their scoring for the day was 3 runs ove the final two innings as walks and an error score 1 in the 6th and doubles from the dynamic Matt’s plate 2 in the 7th. The Swingiest Swinger to swing a bat was Matt Bachman who hammered the ball all over the yard going 3 for 3 with a single, double and triple. One more at bat surely would have given him the cycle on the day as he was feeling it!
