Game One: Generals @ Misfits
Generally speaking, the Misfits should manhandle the Generals, but not tonight! Generals Craig Evans, Rusty Bentz, and Ben Corlett would score 8 of the Generals' 9 total runs. The Misfits would have a more balanced attack - led by Trevor Rice’s 3 runs and a triple. Bob Grosch would be perfect at the plate with 3 singles and a double. The Misfits post 14 and grab the dub, 14 - 9.
Player of the Game: Bob Grosch - 4 for 4, 3 runs scored, 2 RBI, 1 DBL.
Game Two: Cobra Kai @ Cannoneers
The Kai would scratch out 12 runs in the opening 4 innings vs the league’s perennial champ. Leadoff batter, Jay Pane would score 3 of them. Cory Gomez, Tyler Gower, and Pane would all leave the park with homers. The Cannoneers would post 3 homers of their own by Brian Wrigley, Jake Engleman, and Dan Powell. But in total, they’d only score 7. The Kai get a big win 12-7.
Player of the Game: Jay Pane - 2 for 4, 1 BB, 3 runs scored, 3 RBIs, 1 HR
Game Three: Dirty Dozen @ Sons of Pitches
This game would end 16-15… D12 would see 3 players go deep (Jordan Cook, Justin O’Brien, & Cody Nash). Tim Frei and Bob Stanley would hit dingers for the SofPs. D12’s Chris Hackney wouldn’t swing the bat tonight - but would score 3 runs on 4 walks. A huge 10-run 6th inning would make the difference in this one, SofP’s edge out D12, 16-15.
Player of the Game: Bob Stanley - SofP’s, 4 for 4, 1 HR, 2 DBLs, 4 RBIs, 3 runs.
***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now, it's goodbye... until next week!
