Game #1 – Knuckleheads vs. Altek

Knuckleheads get it going with a two run bomb off the bat of Jon Poore to give them an early 2-0 lead. Matt Bookheimer also added a run on an RBI single as they lead 4-0 after the top of the first. Altek will answer in the bottom of the inning with a three run bomb off the bat of Nick Cataldi. Poore smashes another one, this time a solo shot, before setting up a Mike Koezler RBI single. Cataldi answered himself with a three run bomb in the bottom of the third, as Altek will hold a one run lead after three. Knuckleheads get six runs and take the lead in the fourth. Steph Farrar had a two run double, and Poore smashed his third homer of the night, this time a three run shot. Altek goes quiet for a couple of innings, before erupting in the sixth. Kevin Cwikla, Tony Luizza and Bob Wenner smack in runs on singles and Adam Volpe smashed a solo bomb. Knuckleheads would fall just short late as Altek will steal this one. Altek wins 16-13.

Game #2 – Wehrung’s vs. Knuckleheads

Knuckleheads look to bounce back after a tough first game, but will give up a Luke Hendrix two run bomb out of the gate. Knuckleheads will respond with two bombs, from Jon Poore and Mike Koelzer as they lead 5-2 after one. Homers continue to pace this game, this time with a Wyatt Schilling solo bomb cutting this to a 5-3 game. Kyle Hendrix will clear the bases with a triple as they tie the game up. This was short lived as Knuckleheads put up four more runs. Poore will continue to add to his day with a two run double, while John Kiefer nets two runs on a single. Knuckleheads will add two more runs in the sixth as they look to put this game to bed. Bookheimer and Kiefer had RBI singles. Wehrung’s will tack on a couple more runs on a Lauren Kachnycz RBI single and Lowell Snyder sac fly, but that is where we would end. Knuckleheads win 13-10.
