Palz Tap House vs. Yankee Clippers

Jordan Cohen ropes a leadoff triple to start things off for Palz, but unfortunately does not cross the plate to score. In the bottom of the 1st, the Yankee Clippers get 1 run off of two singles, including a John Bennett RBI knock. A single by Chris Crookham and a walk get two men on base for Palz to start the 2nd inning, but three consecutive flyouts leave them scoreless again. Yankee Clippers snag two more in the bottom of the inning off of two singles, and an error which brings in 2 runs. Palz bats get going in the top of the 3rd inning, plating 3 runs via two singles, a walk, and a Pete Herbert two RBI double. YC responds with a leadoff single, and a double by Connor 'I Played D3 Baseball' Laigaie, but a fielder’s choice, a fly out, grounder back to the pitcher end the 3rd without them scoring a run. Palz scores another 4 runs in the top of the 4th inning, with four singles and back-to-back doubles from Brian Graham and Jordan Cohen doing the damage. The Yankee clippers go down swinging in the bottom of the 4th. Neither team can produce a run in the 5th through 7th innings, so Palz survives a defensive battle, 7-3 final.

Player of the Game: Jordan Cohen, Palz. In a game with such little offense, Cohen went 2-4 with a double and a triple. He also had 2 R and an RBI in the win.



Palz Tap House vs. Philly’s Phinest

Palz get two quick runs off of a HR by Tommy ‘Boy’ Jacob to kick things off in the top of the 1st inning. Phinest strand 2 on the basepaths and cannot plate a run in the bottom of the inning. Three singles and a Casey Long 2 RBI double help net 4 runs for Palz in the top of the 2nd. An error, walk, and Chris Rocks RBI single plate a run for Phinest in the bottom of the inning. Palz’ bats wake up in a big way in the 3rd, dropping a 9er as they batted around the order. Six singles, three doubles, including a pair of 2 RBI smacks by Jordan Cohen and Alex Freeman, and a solo bomb by Chris Crookham got the offense rolling. A single and doubles by Ray ‘Go Kick’ Rocks and Rob ‘Sam’ Adams netted 2 runs for Phinest in the bottom of the inning. Neither team could score in the 4th. In the 5th, Palz scored another 3 runs via two singles, a double, a sac fly, an error, and a 3-run yabbo from Louie ‘Louie’ Knoebel. Needing 3 to keep playing, Dominic Rocks hits a single before a flyout and two fielders’ choices end the game. Palz cruises to victory, 20-3.

Player of the Game: Louie ‘Louie’ Knoebel, Palz. The man with a name so nice, you say it twice, was perfect at the plate, going 4-4 with three singles and a 3-run HR. He also had 3 R and 3 RBIs in the win.



Philly’s Phinest vs. Wild Fire

Philly’s Phinest comes out of the gates hot, scoring 4 runs via five singles and two sac flies. Wild Fire plate 3 of their own in the bottom of the 1st, with two singles, and doubles from Jose Munoz and Dante Pena bringing them within 1. Neither team can score a run in the 2nd as Phinest leave the bases loaded, and Wild Fire leave 2 ducks on the pond themselves. Phinest plate 3 in the top of the 3rd, with four singles and a 2 RBI double from Rob ‘Sam’ Adams doing the damage. Two flyouts and a groundout, with a single mixed in, keep Wild Fire off the board in the bottom of the frame. Phinest score another 2 runs via a solo bomb from Mike Rocks Jr, and an RBI single from John ‘Q’ Quartullo. Wild Fire mix in another single with three flyouts in the bottom of the 4th, en route to another 0 runs. Phinest tacks on another 5 runs in the top of the 5th, with three singles, three walks, and back-to-back doubles from Dominic Rocks and Mike Rocks Sr. pacing the offense. Wild Fire score 2 in the bottom of the inning, with leadoff singles, an RBI double via Jose Munoz, and a sac fly earning the runs. Phinest cannot muster a run in the 6th, and Wild Fire heat up and score 5 in the bottom of the inning to bring this game within 4. Three consecutive singles and a walk load the bases as Jose Munoz blasts a GRAND SALAMI make the score 14-10. Phinest tack on 3 more insurance runs in the top of the 7th, with two doubles, a single, and a solo bomb from Dave Shannon helping to extend the lead to 7. Unfortunately, that was all she wrote as Wild Fire couldn’t score to end the game. Philly’s Phinest extinguishes Wild Fire, 17-10.

Player of the Game: Jose Munoz, Wild Fire. Munoz had himself a day, going 3-4 with two doubles and a grand slam. He also scored 2 Rs to go with 5 RBIs in the loss.



Wild Fire vs. CSA

Wild Fire go scoreless to start the game, while CSA rips off 2 quick runs in the bottom of the 1st, thanks to a leadoff single from Dave Herbert, a triple from Bill Brancato, and a sac fly from Jim Plunkett. Two singles, a sac fly, and a Josh Torres double, plate 2 for Wild Fire as they tie it up in the top of the 2nd. CSA get another two from errors and a single. Neither team can produce a run in the 3rd, as Wild Fire go down 1-2-3, and CSA leaves 2 men on. In the 4th, an RBI double from Josh Torres brings Wild Fire within 1 run, while CSA leaves two on again, failing to produce a run. Wild Fire add 2 runs in the top of the 5th, courtesy of a walk, single, sac fly, and double from Josh Munoz. CSA counters with 3 runs of their own in the bottom half, via four singles and a Dave Herbert triple. Wild fire score 1 off of two singles, and an error to narrow the lead to 1. CSA widens the gap with a 5 run inning, as they load the bases with a leadoff double from Mark Cooper, two walks, a 2 RBI single from Dave Herbert, RBI single from Carmen Brancato, and an RBI double from Jim Plunkett. Needing 6 to tie, Wild Fire can only produce 1 more run off of three singles. CSA douses Wild Fire, 12-7 final.

Player of the Game: Dave Herbert and Bill Brancato, CSA. Herbert and ‘Mullet’ Bill combined to go 6-8 with two singles and a triple each. They also combined for 5 Rs and 3 RBI in the win.



Dave and Confused vs. Dirt Stars

Both squads brought their bats to this game, with Dave and Confused knocking in 2 runs off two singles and a walk in the top of the 1st, while a Joe Carp sac fly netted 1 for Dirt Stars in the bottom of the inning. DC bats around and plates 7 in the top of the 2nd, with four singles, doubles by Kyle Pederzani and Will Moyer, a walk, and an error jumpstarting the offense. Dirt Stars answer with 3 of their own in the bottom of the 2nd, with 5 singles, including a 2 RBI knock by Bobby McHugh. Neither team can produce a run in the 3rd inning. In the top of the 4th, DC adds two via a Kyle Pederzani leadoff double, consecutive walks, and an RBI single by Byron McMackin and an RBI fielder’s choice from Jake Pederzani. Back-to-back-to-back singles, an Aiden ‘With an E’ Fiorelli double, and a Bradon Getty single plate 4 for Dirt Stars in the bottom of the inning to bring them within 3 runs. Both teams go scoreless in the 5th inning. DC scores 2 more runs off of two singles, a sac fly, walk, and a double by Byron McMackin. Dirt Stars plate 4 thanks to a single, walk, RBI double from Aiden ‘With an E’ Fiorelli, and a 3-run bombski by Kevin ‘Return of the’ McNamara. Going into the 7th up only 1 run, DC gets a walk, single, walk, and then a GRAND SLAM from none other than ‘Mean’ Mark McKinney to put DC up 17-12. Needing 5 to tie, Dirt Stars could only muster two off of singles and a two RBI double from Dan ‘the Man’ Curran. DC wins the hit parade, 17-14 final.

Player of the Game: ‘Mean’ Mark McKinney, Dave and Confused. Mean Mark went 3-4 with a walk, two singles, and a grand slam. He scored 2 Rs and knocked in 5 RBIs in the win.



Yankee Clippers vs. Dirt Stars

Yankee Clippers score 3 runs in the top of the 1st, with four walks, an RBI double by Kai ‘the Guy’ Browner, and a 2 run HR from Nick ‘Socks’ Wasekanes. Dirt Stars respond by cracking open some Twisted Tea Lites and cracking a 10 spot in the bottom of the 1st. Five walks, three singles, two doubles, including a bases clearing double from John Boyle, and a 2 RBI double from Liam Getty, and a grand slam from Aiden ‘With an E’ Fiorelli broke this game wide open. The 2nd inning was quiet for both squads, as the Yankee Clippers scored 1 run off of a Nick ‘Socks’ Wasekanes solo HR, and Dirt Stars couldn’t score with the bases loaded. In the 3rd, Yankee Clippers get 1 more back courtesy of an Andre O’Donnell sac fly. Dirt Stars respond by dropping 6 runs in the bottom of the frame. Six singles, including a 2 RBI single from Bob McHugh, and two walks propelled the offense. Down 11, YC scores another run off of an RBI single from Connor ‘I Played D3 Baseball’ Laigaie. Dirt Stars drop another 7 in the bottom of the 4th, with four singles, three walks, and an RBI double from Dan ‘the Man’ Curran. Clippers score two more in the top of the 5th via RBI singles from Nick Wasekanes and Will Jensen, but it doesn’t matter. Dirt Stars curbstomp the Yankee Clippers with a 23-8 final.

Player(s) of the Game: Aiden ‘With an E’ Fiorelli, Dirt Stars, and Nick ‘Socks’ Wasekanes, Yankee Clippers. Fiorelli went 4-5 on the day with three singles, a grand slam, 4 Rs and 4 RBIs in the win. Wasekanes went 3-3 with a single, walk, two HRs, 3 Rs and 4 RBIs in the loss.
