Game One: Cobra Kai @ The Yard
This one would end 18-15, with excitement right until the end. Right out of the gate, the Kai popped off for 6 runs. Tyler Gower hit a 2-run shot, as did Donnie Squartino. The Yard answered with 5, with the last 4 of them coming from a Dan Benner grand slam. The Yard’s Mike Koelzer and John Kiefer would go back-to-back with homers in the 3rd. The Kai got long-ball answers from Jaek Haber and Rob Tomkinson. Going into the 7th, it was 14-13 in favor of the Yard. The Kai would capture the lead scoring 2 in the 7th. Mo Rodriguez, Jon Poore, and Mike Koelzer would all get on base, loading them for John Kiefer. His fly-out was deep enough to drive in the game-tying run. JB Jordan put the game to bed with a 3-run walk-off homer.

Game Two: Generals @ Dirty Dozen
Generally speaking, when you have a player hit 3 HRs in one game, you stand a decent chance to win the game. Chris Knechel batted 3 times, homered 3 times, and drove in 8 runs. D12 posted 23 and buried the Generals 23-11. D12 got a pair of dingers from Cody Nash and a 2-run homer from Pete Abary.

Game Three: Cannoneers @ Balls Deep
This one would only go 5 innings. Shawn Hines would go 5 for 5 with a homer. Dan Powell (Good Dan as he’s known by some) would also go 5 for 5 with a homer. DJ Mauger would be homerless, but also was a perfect 5 for 5. Balls Deep scratched out a couple of runs here and there, but it was a lopsided affair. Tim Frei led the way scoring twice. 25-7 in 5 innings played.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of S. Carter, “A wise man told me don't argue with fools. Cause people from a distance can't tell who is who.”
