Friday Men’s - May 26, 2023

Game One: Sons of Pitches @ Dirty Dozen
This one would only go 6 innings, as time would be a factor. D12 spaced out 9 runs with its 9 players. Sons of Pitches had 3 monster innings scoring, 7 in the 3rd, 6 in the 4th, and 6 more in the 6th. Jason Dickerson hit a pair of 2-run homers, Nick Pigott crossed the plate 4 times, and Derek Benner also hit a 2-run homer for SofP’s, who won 23-9.

Game Two: Cobra Kai @ Generals
Generally speaking, getting flip-flopped is a bad thing. The Kai posted big numbers, and early. Donnie Squartino hit a 3-run homer in the first. Two batters later, Rob Thomkinson would follow with a Hans Solo shot. Four doubles in a row by Jake Haber, Squartino, Tyler Gower, and Thomkinson all happened on each player’s 2nd AB of the first inning. Gower would also go ya-ya in the 3rd. The Generals posted 8 on the day, 2 via a banger from Chris Knechel. Rich Austin tripled and walked in his 2 ABs, and scored twice. Kai wins big, 24-8.

Game Three: Cannoneers @ Yard
The reigning and defending champs mixed down The Yard 22-5. Shawn Hines went 5 for 5, 2 homers, 5 runs scored, and 5 RBIs. The Yard scored 5 total runs. Tom Koelzer hit a solo in the 7th. The Cannoneers batted 11 players, and all 11 scored at least once. Wilson Miller hit for the cycle and scored 3 himself.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of S. Carter, “A wise man told me don't argue with fools. Cause people from a distance can't tell who is who.”
