Game #1 – Wehrung’s vs. Wackers

Wackers look to get their playoff run started with a sac fly from Bill Brancato, then two run bomb from Alex Freeman. Dan Vescovi and Lissa Terca will round out the scoring in the inning with a sac fly and RBI double respectfully. The one and only Nonny grabs a run in the second inning on an RBI single, before Wehrung’s will finally get on the board. Luke Hendricks gets a run back for Wehrung’s on an RBI double, but their bats would remain cold today. Wackers hit Nonnys smelling salts and swing for the fences in the next couple of innings, getting a solo bomb from Freeman and three run shot from Frank Fusca as they look to pull away in this one. Brancato and Freeman will add RBI doubles late and Wackers will flash the leather as they take this one and move on. Wackers win 16-1.

Game #2 – Knuckleheads vs. Mott-Ley Crew

The second playoff game gets started with Knuckleheads pushing across four runs. These were all thanks to one swing, off the bat of Mike Koezler. Crew will fight back for a couple of runs across the first and second inning. Brady Mengal knocked in a run on a double while Selina Alicea knocked in a run on a fielder’s choice. Knuckleheads get back on the hitting train with three runs in the third. Back to back to back RBI doubles net them their three runs. This was from Mike Koezler, Jose Rodriguez and Jimmy Craig. Crew punch back and get three runs in the bottom of the inning. Larissa Motts knocks in a run on a single, followed by a two run triple from CJ Motts. Mengal nets one more run on a sac fly. Back and forth we go as knuckleheads push across another four runs. Tom N grabs a run on a single and Chris Hackney grabs two runs on a double. Crew get two homers in the fourth with a Greg Rielly two run bomb and Jon Motts solo bomb. Crew shuts Knuckleheads down the next couple innings and come up big in the bottom of the sixth. Jon Motts smashing another homer, this time a two run bomb, while Alex L knocks in two on a single as Crew take a 16-11 lead going into the seventh. Poore and Steph Farrar grab two runs in the seventh, but will come up short in this one. Crew win 16-13.

Game #3 – Demons vs. Carroll’s

Demons come out of the gate firing, with RBI singles from Jay Pane, Bill Shallcross and Ben Razzi. Carroll’s doesn’t waste any time and comes right back at them with a seven run inning. Sarah Yoos starts the scoring with an RBI double, followed by RBI singles from Bill Shipe, Ali T, Mike Stacey and Bob McClintock. Kevin Shinkunas also had a two run single in the inning. Carroll’s will come back with four more runs in the second as they run out to an 11-4 lead after two innings of play. Demons will grab one run in the third, before fighting back with eight runs in the fourth as they bring the game to a 13-13 tie. Roc Akers had a two run single, while Anthony Crawford knocked in two runs on a triple. Ben Razzi also knocked in a run with a single. Sarah Yoos had a two run bomb for Carroll’s in the inning. Carroll’s go back on top in the fifth with RBI singles from Yoos and Kelly G. Carroll’s will really pull away with a five run sixth. Mike S and Steve D had RBI singles while McClintock added an RBI double. Demons could muster up two runs in the sixth, but that is all the fight they had in them in this one. Carroll’s will move on and win 21-15.
