Week 3 - 9/15/23

Game 1: Lady Birds vs. Boom Sticks

James McLaughlin jacks a two run homer for KB in the top of the first. BS gets on the board with a run in the bottom of the second. James McLaughlin smashes a solo homer for LB as three runs cross the plate in the top of the third. LB bats around in the top of the fourth to score seven runs on walks, doubles by Jason McLaughlin and Joe Pittman, Sr, and a James McLaughlin two run triple. BS puts up two runs in the bottom of the fourth on singles. LB bats around again in the top of the fifth to plate nine runs on errors, singles, and doubles by Joey Pittman and John McGranahan. BS picks up three runs in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a Larry Kirshner RBI triple. Joey Pittman rakes a two run triple for LB in the top of the sixth. The Lady Birds beat up on the Boom Sticks, 24-7.

Game 2: Man Bear Pigs vs. Hagan’s Heroes

MBP takes an early lead with three runs in the top of the first. Ryan Goodman smashes a three run homer for HH in the bottom of the first. Singles lead to four runs for HH in the bottom of the second. HH bats around in the bottom of the fourth to pick up nine runs on singles, a two run triple by Kenny Goodwin, and a Ryan Goodman two run homer. MBP bats around in the top of the fifth to get six runs on singles, and a Steve Skedz two run triple. HH finishes it off with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Hagan’s Heroes makes quick work of Man Bear Pigs, 23-8.

Game 3: Man Bear Pigs vs. No Shows

MBP bats around in the top of the first to get seven runs on errors and singles. Joe F jacks a solo homer for MBP in the top of the second. Justin Glennon rips an RBI double for MBP in the top of the third. NS gets on the board with four runs in the bottom of the fourth on singles. Singles help MBP add four runs in the top of the fifth. NS adds seven runs in the bottom of the fifth on errors, and doubles by Jess McCorry and Derek Muhl. Steve Skedz smokes a two run triple for MBP in the top of the sixth. Man Bear Pigs tops No Shows, 20-12.

Game 4: Reap What You Sow vs. Monsters & Menthols

Alex Freeman rips an RBI triple for MAM in the bottom of the first. RWYS puts up three runs in the top of the second on singles. Kyle Rizzi blasts a solo homer for RWYS in the top of the fourth. Back to back doubles by Bill Brancato and Mark Cooper net MAM two runs in the bottom of the fourth. RWYS bats around in the top of the fifth to score ELEVEN runs on singles, and a three run homer by Brandon Birkhead. MAM rallies for a run in the bottom of the seventh. Reap What You Sow beats Monsters & Menthols, 17-5.
