Friday Men’s - Nov 3, 2023 - Playoffs

Post by JP40 »

Game One: Dirty Dozen @ Only Fans
The underdog Dozen would open the night with an upset. Only Fans only scratched out 7 runs in this playoff night opener. Izzi’s first-inning solo shot turned out to be the offensive highlight for the team. Zupkusky would cross the plate twice, but he’d be the only multi-run player in the lineup for The Fans. D12 would have 4 players with multiple runs and Fenton would display his power with a 2-run homer in the 6th inning. D12 drops the higher-seeded Only Fans, 11 - 7.

Game Two: Balls Deep @ American Legion
Well, this one wasn’t great for B-Deep. They’d only score 4 runs, 2 of which were on a Nick Pigott ding-dong. Legion did Legion things. Shawn Hines had an okay night. He went 4 for 4. Two 3-run homers, 1 grand slam, a single, and 10 RBIs. Yes, he beat B-Deep statistically by himself. Legion wins big, 17 - 4.

Game Three: D12 @ The Yard
As a reward for winning earlier in the night, D12 got to sit in the cold for an hour and then play the #1 seed. D12 would have a 6-run inning in the 4th, on 8 singles. But that would be nearly all of their run production on the night. Aiken would be the only team member scoring two runs. The Yard got a nice night from Johnny Poore. He hit 1 double, 2 homers, 3 runs, and 6 RBIs and Kiefer blasted a 2-run shot. Yard crush D12, 17 - 8.

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of S. Carter, “A wise man told me don't argue with fools. Cause people from a distance can't tell who is who.”
