B East Week 2 April 14th

Game 1

Web Gems VS Birds of War


Birds of War starts off quickly with RBI walks from Tom Bush and Sonny Rey, RBI double from Ryan Thompson, and RBI single from John Laino. They put 5 up to start the inning and Web Gems gets a triple from Arik Fenton but can’t score. Birds of war keeps scoring in the second, with a 3 run Home Run from Matt Jacobson and RBI single from Chris Day to extend the lead to 9. Birds of war gets one back in the second from an RBI sac fly from George Webb. Birds adds one in the 3rd and then get 4 more in the 4th, with a two RBI single from John Laino, RBI single from Ryan Mcavey, and RBI sac fly from Sonny Rey. Web Gems gets a few back in the bottom of the fourth with RBI singles from Alex Larosa and Ryan Delong and score 3 in the inning. Birds of War add more in the 6th with an RBI triple from John Laino, RBI double from Sonny Rey, and a sac fly from Anthony Mauceri to get 4 more. In the top of the 7th Birds of War keeps piling on, with an RBI single from Justin Kneebone, Ryan Thompson, Austin Devlin, and Tom Bush. Sadly, this one ends early when Web Gems suffers a second injury and concedes.

Game 2

Wild Fire VS Dugout Demons


Wild Fire starts off fast getting one in the top of the first with an RBI single from Phil Purchase. Dugout Demons gets it back with an RBI double from Sean Brenan. We are scoreless in the second and then Wild Fire takes the lead back in the top of the third with a sac fly from Eric Simonait. Dugout Demons crack this one open and regain the lead with a 3 run Home Run from TJ Pergine and RBI single from Jimmy Roskos. Both temas are held scoreless in the 4th and Wild Fire gets one back in the third off of a sac fly from Jim Catanzaro. Nate Gregory scores for Dugout Demons on an error to keep the lead at 4. In the sixth Wild Fire gets two, with an RBI from Tony Sanchez and a run on an error to bring it close. Dugout Demons are held scoreless and we go into the top of the 7th with Wild Fire trailing 5-7. Wild Fire gets back to back singles from Josh Torres and Phil Purchase and then Kyle Stephens knocks one in on an RBI single and Phil Purchase scores on an fielders choice to tie the game. In the bottom of the 7th, TJ Pergine, representing the winning run, starts Dugout Demons off with a single. Nate Gregory gets a single of his own to move TJ to third and AJ Dejewski draws a walk to load the bases. Sean Brenan steps up and hits a fly ball deep to left and TJ is able to score to walk this one off for Dugout Demons.

Dugout Demons wins on a walkoff 8-7

Game 3

Stiff Sox VS Balls Deep


Stiff Sox and Balls Deep, inspired by the walk off the just witnessed, take the field. Stiff Sox do nothing in the top of the first. Balls Deep is able to get two in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Bob Stanley and Steve Taylor. Balls Deep adds another run in the bottom of the second when Tommy Gallo crosses on a Tim Frei fielders choice. We are scoreless in the third and then Stiff Sox gets a few back in the top of the 4th. Jeff Rodriguez hits an RBI triple and then Brin Delucas knocks him in with an RBI single. Stiff Sox takes the lead in the 5th with an RBI single from Antonio Almeida and sac fly from Jim Kullmann. In the bottom of the sixth Tim Fossile hits an RBI double to tie it up and we head into the 7th tied at 4. Stiff Sox get a double from Brian Delucas but aren’t able to capitalize on it and we go to the bottom of the 7th. Mike Gallo leads off Balls deep with a single, but Ken Huber grounds into a Fielders Choice and then Josh Carl grounds into a double play. Thanks to the hustle of the players, we have time for EXTRA INNNINGS and Stiff Sox starts the top of the eight with Tommy Gallagher on second. The get Tommy to third but can’t capitalize on the runner on second and we go into the bottom of the eighth. Josh Carl starts on second and Tommy Gallo reaches on an error and moves Josh Carl to third. Phil Castrer draws a walk to load the bases and Trevor Harris walks it off with a bases loaded single.

Balls Deep wins in 8 on a walkoff 5-4
