B East Week 3 April 21st

Game 1

Dugout Demons v Balls Deep


Dugout Demons starts off fast with a 2 run Home Run from TJ Pergine but Balls Deep responds back with 4 runs of their own, with Bob Stanley knocking in one off an error and Tim Fossile knocking in 2 off a triple. We have a scoreless second before Dugout Demons ties it up in the top of the third off a 2 run Home Run from Sean Brennan. Balls Deep takes the lead off back to back home runs from Tim Gluck and Nick Carl. The bottom of the 4th has Balls Deep opening it up with a Tim Frei Grand Slam, but Tim Gluck loses count and accidentally goes back to back for the second out of the inning. Dugout Demons gets one in the 5th off an RBI single from Nate Gregory but Balls Deep keeps adding with 3 of their own in the fifth, with back to back RBI doubles from Ken Huber and Josh Carl. Dugout makes their run in the 6th, with an RBI single from Christian Wagner and then a Grand Slam from Sean Brennan. They make it close at 13-11 but Balls Deep adds 3 insurance runs with a Tim Frei solo shot and rbi triple from Nick Carl. Dugout Demons get a two run shot from Christian Wagner but will fall short as Balls Deep holds on for the win.

Balls Deep wins 16-13

Game 2

Wild Fire V Stiff Sox


Stiff Sox and Wild Fire break out the leather to start the game and we are scoreless through the first three innings. Jim Catanzaro finds a gap to lead off the top of the fourth for Wild Fire and Eric Simonait knocks him in with an RBI single. Philly’s Phinest ties it up with a sac fly from Mike Rocks Jr but Wild Fire takes it back in the top of the 5th with Tom Orlando knocking in Mark Maria on an error. The top of the seventh starts and Wild Fire breaks out, with an RBI double from Mark Maria, 2 RBI double from Jim Catanzaro, RBI singles from Phil Purchase and Kyle Stephens, and RBI walk from Mark Maria to knock in 7. Stiff Sox are held scoreless in the 7th and Wild Fire wins easily.

Game 3

Birds of War VS Philly’s Phinest

Birds of War starts the game off quickly with an RBI triple from Jay Cowan followed by a Matt Jacobson single. They get an RBI double from Ruan Thompson followed by a John Laino RBI single and break out to a 5-0 lead. We are 5-0 heading into the top of the fourth when Birds of War add two more with RBI singles from Anthony Mauceri and Jay Cowan to extend the lead to 7-0 and then 8-0 in the 5th off a Tom Bush solo Home Run. Philly’s Phinest gets one in the bottom of the fifth with a sac fly from Mike Rocks Jr but that is the only run Philly’s Phinest can muster. Birds of War adds 3 more in the 7th with sac flys from Matt Jacobson and Tom Buch and an rbi single from Justin Kneebone. Birds of War flashes the leather and wins this one 11-1.

Game 4

Web Gems VS Birds of War


Birds of War keeps up the defense, shutting out Web Gems in the first two innings, and grab the lead in the bottom of the first when Jay Cowan scores on an error. Webb Gems takes back the lead in the top of the third with RBI singles from Ryan Legeckas and Steve Wilson and a sac fly from Eric Adiletto to score 3. Birds of War ties it back up though with two runs of their own when Sonny Rey and Anthony Maiceri score on a fielders choice. Webb Gems doesn’t let Birds of War get comfortable and take the lead right back with a solo Home Run from Nick Mackell and RBI sac fly from Justin Perloff. The 5th is scoreless and the sixth lets Birds of War cut the lead in half off of an RBI sac fly from Tom Bush before they tie it in the 7th with an RBI single from Anthony Mauceri. We have time left, so we head to extras. In the top of the 8th Justin Perloff starts at second and is knocked in by Ryan Legeckas. John Uccelletti gets an RBI on a single and then Cole Browne hits a sac fly to score another. Eric Adiletto adds an RBI double and then Arik Fenton continues with an RBI single of his own. Nick Mackell caps it off with an RBI sac fly and Web Gems score 6 in the top of the 8th to take an 11-5 lead. Austin Devlin is the runner starting on second for Birds of War and Tom Bush scores him on an rbi single with two outs, but Birds of War can’t start a rally and fall short of the comeback.

Webb Gems wins 11-6
