Game #1 – Winding Brook Farms vs. Altek

Winding Brook Farms gets started with a two run bomb from Matt Bagenhagen. Altek comes back firing in the bottom of the inning with a Kevin Cwikla RBI single, a Casey Mahron two run single, Adam Volpe RBI double and Brittany Lautenslager RBI single. Chris Lento rounds out the inning with a two run triple. Scott Flaherty smashes a solo homer in the second along with a Mahron RBI triple. Lautenslager also added an RBI single as they lead 12-2 after two. Brandon Smith crushes a two run homer as Altek looks to cruise in this first round matchup. Farms will fight back for a couple more runs late in the game, but it won’t be enough as they fall 18-5.

Player of the Game:
Scott Flaherty (Altek) – 3/3, HR, 3 RBI’s



Game #2 – Wehrung’s vs. Wackers

Wehrung’s come out rolling with back to back two run singles from Luke Hendricks and Lowell Snyder. Wackers will get three of those runs back in the bottom of the inning with a two run homer from Alex Freeman and fielder’s choice from Mary Kate Smith. Wackers get three more runs on a Vescovi three run bomb. Both teams go ice cold as neither team would score until the sixth inning. Wackers will explode in the sixth for eight runs. Bill Brancato and Chase Luxton won back to back RBI doubles before setting up a Ricky Kelly three run bomb. Adam Lightkep adds a two run bomb from as they lead 14-4. Wehrung’s will add a run in the seventh, but it is not enough to get it down. Wackers win 14-5.

Game #3 – Knuckleheads vs. Poco’s

Final game of the night gets rolling with a five run first inning out of Knuckleheads. Jose Rodriguez had an RBI triple followed by a John Poore RBI single. Rich Zupkuksy then smashes a three run bomb to make it 5-0. Poco’s add three runs back on a sac fly from Tony Cabot sac fly and Jaime Richards fielder’s choice. Poco’s will take the lead in the third with a four run inning getting two run homers out of Tony Cabot and Ryan Hamilton. Poco’s will take a 13-5 lead in the fifth after a three run bomb from Kris Eve, two run triple from Eric Schade and RBI single from Ryan Hamilton. Knuckleheads start there climb back with four runs in the sixth. John Kiefer and Pierre Girin had RBI singles, while Poore knocked in a run on a sac fly. Poco’s respond in the bottom of the inning with a big response as well. Seven more in total, with Richards and Schade each having two RBI’s. Knuckleheads won’t back down and continue to fight. Knuckleheads get a three run bomb out of Poore and a couple other runs on Jose Rodriguez and Schofield RBI singles. Unfortunately they just couldn’t keep up and will fall in this one. Poco’s win 20-15.
