Game #1 – Mott-Ley Crew vs. Wackers

Crew come out for three runs in the first inning. Jon Motts starts the scoring with a sac fly, followed by a two run single from Ian Kacergis. Wackers double that in the bottom of the inning. Jay Pane, Chase Luxton and Mary Kate Smith knock in runs on hits, while Lissa Tercha knocks in two runs on a single. Wackers will grab another six runs in the second inning. This time it was a Tess Frelick RBI triple, followed by three straight RBI doubles from Bill Brancato, Chase Luxton and Mark Cooper. Crew will struggle early as they only can grab three more runs in the middle innings. Wackers stay strong with a five run fourth inning, getting two more RBI’s from both Frelick and Luxton. Crew will wait until the last inning to wake up at the plate. Carl Motts will knock in two runs on a single, followed by RBI singles from Kacergis and Finn, but it would still be too little, too late. Wackers win 20-13.

Game #2 – Knuckleheads vs. Poco’s

The next game gets rolling a little slow as both teams shut it down defensively and don’t score in the first. Poco’s will open up a lead with a hit from Tyler Stone. Knuckleheads will respond in a big way with seven runs in the bottom of the inning. Pierre Girin and Lauren Wood had RBI singles while Mike C had an RBI double. Rich Zupkusky had the big shot in the inning with a grand slam deep into the quarry woods. Poco’s fight back with four runs in the third. Bill Stone starts it with a sac fly, and a couple of batters later Eric Schade goes yard with a two-run bomb. Tony Cabot also had an RBI single in the inning. Knuckleheads will get another homer in the fifth off the bat of Zupkusky again in the fifth, this time a solo shot, while also getting RBI singles from John Kiefer and Brittany Ullman as they continue to hold a big lead. Poco’s have too many quick innings and will go down in this one. Knuckleheads win 15-8.

Alivia F had an RBI single and Tyler Stone netted a run on a fielder’s choice. RBI singles from Hensman and Tony Luizza give Altek two more runs. In the sixth, Adam Volpe brings in two runs on a double as they make this an 8-6 game. Poco’s step up and grab three big insurance runs thanks to back-to-back RBI doubles from Stone and Jeff Hess. It will be enough as Altek can only grab one run in the seventh thanks to an error and will fall in this one. Poco’s win 11-7.

Adam Hendricks, Paul Muth and Jillian Moninghoff have RBI singles while Wyatt Schilling knocks in a run on a triple. Runs would be hard to come by for Mean Machine in this one as they get their only runs in the game in the fifth and only grab two. Lumber would keep the strong innings going grabbing seven more runs across the third and fourth innings. Bobby Snyder smashed a solo homer and Luke Hendricks knocked in two runs on a single.
