Game 3: Dark Horse vs Stiff Sox

Dark Horse got out front early as they scored three runs in the top of the 1st on an RBI triple by Paul Ferruzzi, RBI double by Rob Gisondi and an RBI fielder’s choice by Ryan Schock. Stiff Sox would bat around in the bottom of the 1st as they scored five runs on RBI singles by Jeff Rodriguez, Tommy Gallagher and Jim Kullman as Stiff Sox led 5-3 after one. Neither team would score in the 2nd inning. In the top of the 3rd, Dark Horse would tie the game after scoring two runs on an RBI triple by Dan Cripps and an RBI sac fly by Ferruzzi. Stiff Sox would not score in the bottom of the 3rd as the game remained tied 5-5 heading into the 4th. In the top of the 4th, Dark Horse could not push a run across. Stiff Sox would score two runs in the bottom of the 4th on an RBI single by Tyler Fornwalt and an RBI sac fly by Rodriguez as Stiff Sox regained the lead 7-5 heading into the 5th. In the top of the 5th, the Dark Horse offense would explode as they scored 11 runs on RBI singles by Jesse Grasso and Andy Springer, RBI double by Schock, RBI triples by Ferruzzi and Dave Ketterlinus and a three-run homer by Jimmy Cooker. In the bottom of the 5th and 6th, Stiff Sox failed to score. Dark Horse would add another two runs in the top of the 6th on RBI singles by Cripps and Schock as they went up big 18-7 heading into the final inning. Dark Horse would add two more insurance runs on an RBI sac fly by Jack Stepnowski and an RBI fielder’s choice by Ketterlinus. Stiff Sox came up in the bottom of the 7th trailing by 13. Stiff Sox would not give up as they scored seven runs on RBI singles by Anthony Crespo and Antonio Almeda, RBI double by Kullman, RBI sac fly and Alex DeCristefano and some runs on errors, but it was not enough as Dark Horse beat Stiff Sox 20-14.

Game 4: Cobras vs Pitches Be Trippin

Cobras bats were dead to start the game as they failed to score in the first two innings. Pitches Be Trippin scored two runs in the bottom of the 2nd on a two run RBI single by Bryce Lerow to take a 2-0 lead after two. In the top of the third, Cobras would get on the board scoring two runs on a homerun by Cody Runner, but this would be the only runs they scored the rest of the way. Pitches Be Trippin would score seven runs the rest of the game on an RBI single and sac fly by Kris Karaba, RBI double by Paul Abenderoth, RBI triple by Bobby Scholley and RBI fielder’s choice by Anthony Perretti as Pitches Be Trippin won a low scoring game over Cobras 9-2.
