B East Playoffs

Wildfire VS Dugout Demons

We start our first playoff game with WildFire not wasting any time. They grab a three run Home Run from Rob Philippe to jump off to a 3-0 lead. Dugout Demons answers right back though, with a two rbi triple from TJ Pergine, who then scores on an error. AJ Dejewski grabs an rbi on a single ad Dugout Demons grabs a 4-3 lead. Mark Maria starts the inning off for Wildfire with a solo Home Run, which can be costly at Hatfield, and then Brian Hackford grabs one with an RBI single and Joe Guinan adds another with an rbi Sac Fly. Wild Fire grabs the lead back at 6-4 but it doesn’t last long as Dugout Demons grabs it right back in the bottom of the second. TJ Pergine grabs an rbi single and then Jimmy Natale grabs another with an rbi Sac Fly. A scoreless third for both teams has Dugout Demons up 7-6 after three but Wildfire grabs the lead in the fourth, with Eric Simonait and Phil Purchase knocking in one each on singles and then Bruce Davis getting a two rbi single to grab 4 in the inning and take a 10-7 lead. Dugout Demons reclaims the need in the fourth though, with a two run Home Run from TJ Pergine, rbi double from Jimmy Roskos, and rbi single from Pat O’Brein to grab an 11-10 lead after 4. The fifth is scoreless for WildFire and Dugout Demons capitalize with another two run Home Run from TJ Pergine. WildFire gets back into it in the sixth with a 2 run Home Run from Rib Phillipe to cut it to within one, but Christian Wagner adds one for Dugout Demons in the 6th with an RBI triple. We go into the 7th with Dugout Demons leading 14-12. Brian Hackford gets a single to start the inning and bring the tying run to the plate and Jim Catanzaro delivers with a Home Run to tie the game…. If they weren’t over their Home Run limit. Instead, Jim is the second out of the inning and WildFire falls victim to the Home Run limit at Hatfield and falls short.
