Game 1: Doc’s Irish Pub vs Palz Tap House
Doc’s wins by forfeit 7-0 over Palz Tap House.
Game 2: Doc’s Irish Pub vs One Hit Wonders
Both teams scored a pair of runs in the first couple of innings to tie the game a 2-2. One Hit Wonders would open the game up and the 3rd and never looked back as they went on a 15-2 run the rest of the way. Leading the way for One Hit Wonders was Dan Cripps who had a couple RBI singles and Andy Springer who had a two-run homer as One Hit Wonders won easily 17-4 over Doc’s.
Game 3: Purple Cobras vs Wire 2 Wire
Wire 2 Wire scored 5 runs in the top of the 1st to take an early lead on doubles by Joe DiMezza, Derek Acker, and Tom Signore and triples by Gene Walczak and Jeff Judge. Purple Cobras would hit a couple singles to keep us close at 5-2 after the 2nd. Jacob McDevitt hit an RBI double in the third to extend the Wire 2 Wire lead to 6-2. The Purple Cobras would storm back scoring six runs in the bottom of the 3rd including a big two-run RBI single by Tom Friedman as the Purple Cobras took the lead 8-6. Acker would deliver a two-run RBI double in the 5th to regain the lead for Wire 2 Wire, but Purple Cobras answered right back with a sac fly to tie the game at 10 all after five. Wire 2 Wire would retake the lead again in the 7th scoring six runs with a triple from Alex Metz and a few singles including a two-run RBI single by Tom Signore to put them up 16-10 with three outs to go. Purple Cobras were able to scratch one across on a sac fly in the bottom of the 7th, but it would not be enough as Wire 2 Wire won the game 16-11 over Purple Cobras.
Game 4: Wire 2 Wire vs Swingers
Ben Razzi put Swingers out in front in the 1st with a two-run RBI triple. Wire 2 Wire answered right back with two of their own on a single and doubles by Derek Acker and Jake Haber. Wire 2 Wire would take the lead in the 2nd on a couple singles and a sac fly to give them a 4-2 lead. Lucas Burke would homer for Swingers in the third to put them within one. Wire 2 Wire answered with three runs of their own on a couple singles and an Acker solo homer to put them up 7-3. The Swingers would tie the game in the 5th on a couple singles, double by Lucas Burke and a two-run homer by Jack Larini. But again Wire 2 Wire would answer as they have all day with back-to-back homers by Jake Haber and Tom Signore to take a 9-7 lead. This would prove to be the difference as the Swingers could not get anything going in the last two innings. Wire 2 Wire wins a low scoring game 9-7 over the Swingers.
Game 5: Swingers vs Dark Horse
Mike Suda, Paul Harding and Nick Marina had RBI singles early on to give Dark Horse a 4-1 lead after the first three innings. Swingers got the offense going in the 4th scoring seven runs on singles and two RBI doubles by Lucas Burke and Matt Close to give Swingers and 8-4 lead. They did not stop there as they score 6 more runs in the 5th with doubles by Brian Hoover and Nick McClay to extend their lead to 14-4. Unfortunately for Dark Horse, after the first three innings they could not string any hits together and did not cross the plate the rest of the way. Swingers turned the game around defeating Dark Horse 14-4.
Game 6: Pitches Be Trippin vs Dark Horse
Dark Horse like their previous game got out in front early scoring 5 runs in the first inning off five singles and two-run RBI double by Dave Ketterlinus. Pitches Be Trippin put up two runs in the bottom half of the first on a couple singles and a double by Paul Abendroth. A couple more singles by Nick Marina and Mike Suda extended the Dark Horse lead to 7-2. Pitches Be Trippin would score five runs in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 7-7 on a few singles and doubles by Anthony Perretti and Matt Horn. Dark Horse would retake the lead in the top of the 4th after a double by Mike Suda. A couple singles by Pitches Be Trippin made the score 9-8 Dark Horse after four. Pitches Be Trippin would take the lead in the 5th after they scored four runs on a homer by Kris Karaba and an RBI triple by Matt Sheehan to make the score 12-10. Pitches Be Trippin would extend their lead in the 6th scoring five more runs on a handful of singles. In the 7thafter getting the lead off guy on, Dark Horse went down in order handing the victory to Pitches Be Trippin. Pitches Be Trippin pulls ahead late to defeat Dark Horse 17-10.
