Game #1 – Dominicks vs. The Sillies
Cody Miller gets Dominicks going pushing across a run on an RBI double. They will then score four more runs in the inning on some singles and errors. The Sillies will get three runs back on a Kris Karaba three run bomb. Both teams put up goose eggs in the second, before Dominicks get a homer of their own, a solo bomb from Kevin Udris. Justin Glennon will get a run back for Sillies on an RBI single as we go blow for blow. A Bob Kolecki single and Ray Barry double will net Dominicks two more runs as they lead 8-5 heading into the sixth inning. Karaba will tie it with a three-run bomb, his second homer of the game. A Mike Liddy triple and then George Slawter fielder’s choice will walk this one off as Sillies win. Dominicks win 9-8.
Player of the Game:
Kris Karaba (Sillies) - 2/3, 2 HR’s, 6 RBI’s
Game #2 – The Maize vs. Quality
The Maize gets rolling with a first inning RBI double from Austin Grasso gives them an early 1-0 lead. Maize would go quiet for an inning before they explode in the third. Tom Egitto and Christian Hazlett had RBI singles, Wil Das had an RBI triple, and Aaron Worthington had the big hit with a three-run bomb. Both teams will net a run in the fourth, taking us to the sixth. Runs are hard to come by in this one and Quality can only manage four runs in the entire game as runs were hard to come by in this one. Maize will have one more big inning in the seventh as they score seven more runs. Grasso will go deep for a two-run shot and Das will go deep for a three-run shot. Maize wins 19-4.
Player of the Game:
Aaron Worthington (The Maize) - 3/3, 2B, HR, 3 RBI’s
Game #3 – The Runs vs. Wehrung’s
Runs strike first and get back-to-back RBI doubles to take an early 2-0 lead. Wehrung’s will get two runs back on an Adam Hendricks two run double to tie this game up. Runs will yet again put up two more runs thanks to a Bobby Zideole and Jason Exner sac fly. And yet again, Wehrung’s will tie it up with two more runs. Lowell Snyder knocked in one with a single and Sammy Calderon knocked in one with a double. Both teams go quiet for a couple of innings before Zideole was back at it, this time with a solo homer. As this game has gone, Wehrung’s will get that run back with a Douglas Moninghoff RBI single. Wehrung’s will grab a lead in the sixth which takes us to the seventh, where Runs are down to their final two outs. Zidenole will tie the game with an RBI single and Jason Exner will walk this game off with an RBI single. Runs win 7-6.
