B EAST FINALS

The finals kicks off with Dugout Demons as the visitors in the best of three series against Philly’s Phinest, who made an appearance in Fall’s B East final.
Dugout Demons go down in 4, with Sean Brennan collecting the only hit of the inning. Philly’s Phinest grabs 4 in the bottom of the first with a lead off walk from Joe Carpino, double from Mike Rocks, and then a 2 rbi Steve Johnson single. Ray Rocks hits a single and then Tony Summers sac flies in Steve Johnson. Mike Rocks grabs the last rbi of the inning off a single and we go into the second with Philly’s Phinest up 4-0. Dugout Demons tie it up quick though, with a leadoff single from Pat O’Brein and then a triple from Scott Masulis. Jimmy knocks Scott in with a single and then TJ Pergine launches a two run Home Run. Philly’s Phinest grabs the lead back quickly on a Mike Rocks error that scores Billy Schubert to take a 5-4 lead. The third sees another lead change as Jimmy grabs an RBI single and Pat O’Brien knocks in an rbi single right after him. Philly’s Phinest ties it back up though, grabbing one on an rbi single from Mike Rocks. Demons blank in the 4th and Philly’s Phinest retakes the lead with a Tony Summers rbi single and a sac fly from Mike Rocks. The 5th is scoreless for both teams, and then Demons grab one in the 6th with an RBI single from Nate. Philly’s Phinest have a big 6th with 3 runs off an RBI single from Ray Rocks and then two runs on a Chris Culver fielders choice. Down 4 in the top of the seventh, John leads off with a single, Pat M follows with his own single and then Scott knocks John in with a sac fly. Dugout Demons can’t muster anymore though, and they will fall in game 1.
Philly’s Phinest takes game 1 11-8
Game 2
Philly’s Phinest will lead this one off as the away team and they grab one on a Ray Rocks rbi single. That’s the only run of the first 2 innings and then Philly’s Phinest grabs one in the top of the 3rd with a sac fly from Joe. Dugout Demons tie it up in the bottom of the third with an RBI double from Sean followed by a sac fly from John. They’ll grab the lead in the fourth when Nate scores on a fielders choice and Demons lead 3-2 going into the 5th. They’ll add two more in the 5th with an RBI double from John and RBI single from Pat M. They add 5 more in the 6th with an rbi double from Pat, sac fly from Christian, TJ Pergine hits a solo Home Run and then Pat M and Nate hit RBI singles to take a 10-2 lead. Philly’s Phinest goes 1-2-3 and we are going to a game 3.

Game 3
Demons come out wasting no time, scoring 3 in the first with a 3 run Home Run from John. They’ll add two more in the 2nd with an rbi double from Christian and sac fly from Sean. Philly’s Phinest get it within two in the bottom of the second with a sac fly from Mike and rbi single from Billy. Dugout Demons seem to finally be clicking though, with a 6 spot in the 3rd. They get a leadoff triple from Pat M and AJ sac flies him in. Jimmy gets an RBI double and then Pat follows him with an rbi single. Philly’s Phinest gets one off a sac fly from Ray Rocks. The next two innings are scoreless, but then Dugout Demons erupt in the 6th. They get a solo Home Run from John to start the inning, then an rbi single from Nate, rbi double from Scott, rbi single from Pat, Christian, and TJ, Sean gets an rbi double from Sean, and then another rbi single from John. They score 9 in the inning to put them up 19-4. Philly’s Phinest cant muster a comeback and fall in the finals.
