Game #1 – The Maize vs. Wehrung’s

Wehrung’s will strike first in this playoff game grabbing two runs on a Luke Hendricks two run bomb. Maize will get their first runs in the second inning on an RBI single from Wil Marsden, but that is quickly matched by a sac fly from Paul Muth. Wehrung’s will really break this open in the third inning with six total runs. Emily Hendricks and Daniel Muth had RBI singles, Paul Muth had an RBI double while Luke Hendricks smashes another two-run bomb. Maize will get a homer of their own on an Aaron Worthington two run bomb, while also adding a run on a Sam Atmiller RBI single. Troy Klauder and Michelle Egitto bring in two more runs on singles, but they would be too far behind in this one to come back. Wehrung’s win 10-6.

Player of the Game:
Luke Hendricks (Wehrung’s) – 3/3, 3 HR’s, 5 RBI’s

Game #2 – Wehrung’s vs. Dirty Balls

Wehrung’s comes out in game two looking for a spot in the championship as they bring in one on a Luke Hendricks solo homer. Dirty Balls will get three back in the bottom of the inning on RBI singles from Harrison Leal and Tim Gluck as well as a sac fly from Jenn Sevitski. Balls add one more in the second with a solo bomb from Nick Pigott to make this a 4-1 game. Both teams blank in the third, which takes us to the fourth, where Wehrung’s will add one on an RBI double from Luke Hendricks. Again, though, here comes Dirty Balls. Jason Dickerson brings in a run on a double which makes this a 7-2 game. Wehrung’s last ditch effort comes in the seventh where they add three more runs, two of which come on a Daniel Muth two run triple. But that is where the Wehrung’s season would end as they fall in this one. Dirty Balls books it’s trip to the chip next week. Mark Rothenberger help seal the game for Balls with a solo homer in the sixth. Dirty Balls win 9-6.

Both teams get shut down in the fourth, until Supreme takes its first lead of the night, getting another solo bomb from Karaba and RBI from Katie Cherba. Altek takes that lead right back in the sixth, with an RBI walk from Brittany Lautenslager and three run bomb from Brandon Smith. Altek will grab four more runs in the seventh, getting another three run homer, this time from Briant Dart as they will hold off Supreme’s push and punch their ticket to the chip. Altek win 11-9.
