Game #1 – Muckdogs vs. Dirty Balls
Muckdogs come out with four runs out of the gate getting a run on an RBI single followed by a two run double from Ryan Catania. Dirty Balls will get one run back in the bottom of the inning on a Mark Rothenberger solo homer and then will get three more runs back in the second inning on a Tim Gluck solo homer, Nick Piggot sac fly and Harrison Leal RBI single. Both teams will go quiet in the third until Nick Pigott goes yard, this time with a two-run bomb to give Muckdogs their first lead of the game. Muckdogs have a massive fifth inning as they push across ten total runs. Jeff Hess knocks in two runs on a single, Evan Grzymkowski knocks in two runs on a double and Ryan Hamilton delivers the big blow with a grand slam. Muckdogs will add four more insurance runs in the sixth as they will win big in this one.
Player of the Game:
Ryan Hamilton (Muckdogs) – 2/3, HR, 4 RBI’s
Game #2 – Muckdogs vs. Wehrung’s
The second game will get started with a homer for Muckdogs, this time off the bat of Grzymkowski. Tony Cabot will give them two more runs in the second inning on a homer of his own as they lead 3-0. Adam Hendricks will get Wehrung’s on the board in the second inning with a sac fly. Wehrung’s will grab its first lead of the game, getting a run on a Lowell Snyder RBI single and an error. Muckdogs will provide us with the first big explosion of the game in the four when they get hot and put eight runs across. Jeff Hess brings in two runs on a double; Ryan Hamilton brings in two runs on a triple and Grzymkowski provides the big shot of the inning clearing the bases and smashing a grand slam. Muckdogs will then shut it down defensively and hold off any pushes from here on out as they will win this. Muckdogs win 13-7.
Player of the Game:
Evan Grzymkowksi (Muckdogs) - 3/4, 2 HR’s, 5 RBI’s
Game #3 – The Maize vs. Wehrung’s
The final game of the night will get started in the bottom of the first, with an RBI single from Adam Hendricks. Maize will respond in the top of the second getting two runs on a two run single from Super sub Chelsea Detweiler. Wehrung’s will break the tie in the third and grab a two run homer from Moninghoff. But again an inning later, we have a lead change. Maize will bring 10 to the plate in the fourth and score six. Detweiler brings one in on a sac fly, Gary Kleinschmidt brings in two runs on a double and Aaron Worthington brings in two runs on a homer. Things would slow down for Maize from there as Wehrungs keep the pressure on. Moninghoff will bring in two more runs on a single, Hendricks will bring in two more runs on a sac fly and single and Emily Hendricks will bring in one on a single. In the end, Wehrungs will pull away and win this one 14-8.
