Game 1: Goonies VS. City Lights
Recap:
Goonies showed up with a chip on their shoulders for this Sunday morning battle. Bob Scott and Josh Graef were today's standout players as Bob went 3-4 with a double, single and 2 run homer. Josh goes 4-4 with 3 singles and a double. The fire started early for City Lights, but they were never able to put it out. After scoring 9 runs in the first, it was clear Goonies had the advantage and continued lying it on through the 6th inning. This game officially ended as a 15 run mercy with a score of 17-1 as City Lights was only able to plate 1 runner (Angelo Scarflo). Goonies will prepare for the semi finals.
Game 2: Morning Wood VS. Crankin' Hogs
Recap:
Morning wood was able to get up for this matchup as Crankin' Hogs coasted to an 11-6 loss. Both teams started out cold as the scoring was low through the 3rd inning, but Morning Wood pulled away after the 5th and 6 as they managed to plate 7 runs, stunning Crankin' Hogs. Tim Gluck and Tim Frie of Morning Wood were today's standout players as Tim Gluck went 3-3 with a single, double and 3 run homerun. Tim Frie went 2-3 with a single and a homerun. Brenda St. Thomas was the Crankin' Hogs' standout player, going 2-3 with a double, single and a walk. Both teams demonstrated true grit, fighting until the very end. Great Work y'all. To the winners, good luck in semifinals and the championship!
