Game 1: Toto/Kiefer v. Vertex
The Toto/Kiefer crew accustomed to plating many runs per game were just a tad low on this night. Jose Rodriguez did provide a 4-4 night with 2 doubles and 2 rbi and Jon Poore blasted a 3-run shot in the 6th inning. This helped plate 8 runs for the game.
Vertex had nice production from Matt Schaub who was 2-3 with a double and home run, 2 runs scored and 4 ribbies. CJ Snyder was 3-3 with 3 runs scored, and Keith Crowell was also 3-3…CJ with 2 rbi. This was enough to help Vertex take the game 13-8.
Game 2: Beers v. Vertex
Beers had themselves one big inning, the 3rd when they plated 6 of their 11 runs. Ryan Henrity had the big hit, a 2-run home run while Connor and Ryan Whitely both tripled in the inning.
Vertex looked to sweep their scheduled twin-bill and started off well. Justin Miller fell just a HR shy of the cycle while scoring 4 times and driving in 2. Matt Schaub continued his hot night, this time going 4-4 and also being a HR shy of the cycle. Matt drove in 5 more. Vertex went on to score 17 times and win by 6.
Game 3: Slurricanes v. Just Food
A critical mistake by Just Foods cost them this game as they lost by forfeit for using an illegal player.
Game 4: Cale’s Pale Ale v. Mike’s Bar & Grill
Well, for Mikes, not much of an offense. 7 hits on the night, 4 walks, 2 runs scored. That’s it.
Well, for Mikes, not much of a defense either.
Cale’s exploded for 25 runs. Brendan hit two home runs and drove in 6 runs. TJ Ohntrop homered and drove in 4 more. Joe Flyn homered twice and drove in 4. Easy win, 25-2.
