Quarry Ball Field Targeted

A Sunday Coed league member emailed Warrington Township demanding all play at the Quarry ball field be suspended due to sink holes and unsafe conditions. The township in turn reached out to the Eureka Quarry (landowners). The Quarry sent a couple of guys out to take a look at the 'sink holes' and 'unsafe conditions'. They could find nothing wrong with the ball field.

They did, however, notice and were impressed with the new infield resurfacing job. They, much like most people, understand when new dirt is put down it may take a little for it to 'tighten up'. I know I've played on a lot worse. I also know most of the ball fields in Jersey are sandy and beach-like.

What I don't understand is why any disgruntled league member wouldn't come to me before reaching out to the authorities unless, of course, they are nasty, bitter, and vindictive. I am the most transparent and understanding individual you will ever meet. I was at the field for a couple of Sunday Coed games. If someone had an issue with the infield, I would have gone out there myself with the golf cart and dragger and smoothed things out. If I live to be 100, I will never understand some people.

If/when I find out who the vindictive individual is, he/she will no longer be welcome to play softball in Softball America. There isn't much that gets to me. Shooting first and asking questions later is atop the short list.

Old story... no good deed goes unpunished.
