Beers began game one with a lead off walk from Ryan Whitley who then later scored. In the 3rd, they had a decent inning plating 4 runs on 4 hits which included a 2-run single by Josh Goldberg. This was the Beers’ offense in game 1.
Toto/Kiefer crew needed just Jose Rodriguez to compete. Jose started the game 2-2, with 2 home runs and 5 rbi’s. He added another ribbie late in the game. Those 6 rbi were not enough to take the game, but Chris Hackney tripled home 3, Brian Penecale had a solo smash in the 5th and John Kiefer finished with 3 hits, 2 runs scored an d an rbi.
Toto/Kiefer won game 1, 16-5.
Beers began game two almost the same as game one. This time getting a lead off single from Ryan and then he and Ryan H both scored on Ryan C’s double. In the 5th, they had their decent inning…this time 5 runs on 6 hits. Connor M had the inning’s big hit, a 3-run homer. But again, this was their offense for the game.
This time Toto/Kiefer line-up did not have just 1 guy to really stand out, but the entire line up had at least 2 hits. A very balanced attack offensively which led to runs being scored in all innings but 2. The second and fourth innings, this was just about over. Eight runs scored in each of those frames. Brian Penecale finished with 5 rbi, Chris Hackney scored 4 times, Ryan G was 5-5 with 4 rbi and 3 runs scored, Mike Brown was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 rbi and Jon Poore finished with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi.
