TGIF vs IDC
Great pitch selection by TGIF earned them an early lead by plating 1 in the 1st inning while collecting 4 walks. IDC grabbed the lead in the bottom of the 1st with a 3-run inning including an RBI triple by Anthony Crawford. Scoring picked back up in the third when TGIF brought 5 runs across which included a Rob McKenna 2-run blast. IDC scored 2 of their own in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to 1. The score would remain the same until the bottom of the 7th. IDC's first 3 batters reach safely with singles and a walk. After an infield pop-up followed by a game-tying sac fly, Anthony Crawford stepped to the plate with 2 outs and a chance to win the game. He delivered with a single and moved his team on to the next round of the post season. IDC wins, 7-6.
Throwdown vs Philly Junk
UPSET ALERT!!! Philly Junk entered the game as a 8.5 run favorite in some sports books. If you took Throwdown outright you won some big cash. Throwdown got on the board early with 5 runs in the 1st inning via a bunch of singles. Philly Junk got 4 of them right back in the bottom of the frame. Most of the runs came from a Shane "The Haunting" Hanna 3-run laser. After holding Throwdown scoreless in the top half, Philly Junk tied it up with a run in their side of the 2nd off a Justin "Instagram Model" Miller RBI double. After grabbing a 1-run lead in the 3rd, Philly Junk kept at it with 4 more in the 4th. The highlight of the inning was a Justin "I don't know if you've heard but I got to the gym" Miller solo shot. After Philly Junk had doubled up Throwdown's score complacency set in. Throwdown tied the game up with a 5-run 6th inning which included a Tom Montyvdas grand salami! They weren't done either because with the game tied in the 7th they plated 4 runs via 3 extra-base hits. Philly Junk had already parked the car and turned off the engine. Throwdown takes the W, 14-10. Down goes the most hated team in coed softball, on Wednesday nights, in Warrington, PA.
Mayhem vs ICF
Playoff softball didn't disappoint on Halloween and it continued with this game. Mayhem grabbed an early lead after a Jeff Hess RBI triple. He scored after the next batter as well. ICF made it short lived as they plated 3 in the bottom half of the first to take a 1-run lead. They padded the lead by scoring another in the 2nd. After Mayhem got a run back in the top of the 3rd ICF evened it out by scoring one of their own in their side of the inning. Mayhem entered the 4th down by 2 runs and needing a spark. The team strung together some hits on their way to a 5-run inning and regained the lead. It was a short lived lead as they would relinquish it as soon as ICF stepped back up to the plate. The 4 runs put up by ICF were enough to regain a 1-run lead. Scoring would cease until ICF brought home 2 very important insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th. They proved to be important because Mayhem scored 2 in the top of the 7th to bring the deficit to a single run. The only issue was they were out of outs. ICF takes the win, 11-10.
