Post by Rider14 »

Game #1 – Quality Landscape vs. The Runs

Runs will be the first to strike in the opening playoff game getting a two run bomb from Erik Cusano. A couple of errors and then a Steve Schell RBI single end the inning at a 6-0 lead. Runs will come back for two more runs in the second. Singles and errors continue to help bring in some runs for the Runs. Landscape will wait until the third to get their first runs. A Dan McCusker two run triple gets them on the board. Both teams will go quiet for a couple innings before Runs add two more on RBI singles from Maddie Leatherburn and Nick Perricone. An insurance run late in the game makes this an 11-2 game. Landscape will grab two late runs on a two run bomb from McCusker, but that is where this one would end. Runs move on. Runs win 11-4.

Walks and errors will net Machine three runs in the second and a sac fly from Ian Cuzzo will get them another in the third as they trail 7-5. Both teams graba run in the fourth as we had to the fifth where Machine grabs three runs and will take their first lead. Back to back RBI doubles from Scott Gerhart and Ian Cuzzo net them two runs , while an RBI single from Mike Van Fossen nets them their third as Machine lead 9-8. We head to the seventh where Matt Kovelesski smashes a solo bomb to tie this game up. Kye Exner plays hero as he knocks in a run on a fielder’s choice to give Runs the lead. We head to the bottom of the inning where Machine gets the game tying run to third on a Gerhardt triple, but unfortunately he is left there as they will fall just short. Runs win 10-9.
