Game #1 – Mott-Ley Crew vs. The Runs

Crew strike first, which is something the Runs want to avoid as they know the type of firepower that Crew has. Crew immediately get a three run bomb off Jon Mott’s red-hot gold bat, followed by RBI singles from Ian Kacergis and Justin Ruth. Runs will cut into the deficit in the third getting a two run bomb from Erik Cusano, but Crew get those two right back on a sac fly from Tom Finn and Carly Levin RBI single. Crew have another big inning in the fourth with four more runs making this a 11-2 game. Anthony Rapposelli had a two run single, while Kacergis had an RBI double. Runs make a late comeback grabbing three runs each in the sixth and seventh, but they would fall a little short. Kyle Exner smashed a three run bomb in the losing effort. Crew take game one and are one game away from the spring chip. Crew wins 15-8.

Player of the Game:
Jon Motts (Crew) – 4/4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI’s

Game #2 – Crew vs. The Runs

Crew come out firing with yet again another bomb off the bat of Jon Motts giving them an early 2-0 lead. Jonathan Duchette will add another run on a fielder’s choice as they lead 4-0. Runs will get those runs back and tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Erik Cusano gets the job done with a grand slam. Runs will grab the lead in the second, getting back to back RBI singles from Matt Kovaleski and Bobby Ridenour. Runs would hold the lead until the fourth when Crew ties this up with a two run single from Selina Alicea. Runs will grab the lead back in the fifth with five runs on a Motts RBI triple, Kacergis, RBI double and sac fly from Marcus Gibson. Runs will keep fighting though grabbing the lead back with a six run bottom half of the inning. Rebecca Brennan and Bobby Ridenour both had RBI singles in the inning. We head to the seventh where Crew lead by two and are looking for some insurance runs. They get it in a big way as they will bat around. Justin Ruth had a two run single, followed by a Greg Rielly RBI single. Kacergis had a big two run bomb in the inning and we would stand at a 21-10 game heading into the bottom of the seventh. Runs can’t get a rally going and they fall in game two as we crown Mott-Ley our Spring Champs.

Player of the Game:
Jon Motts (Crew) – 5/5, 3B, 2 HR’s, 7 RBI’s

Player of the Week:
Jon Motts (Crew) – 9/9, 2B, 3B, 3 HR’s, 10 RBI’s
