Game #1 – Poco’s vs. Wackers
Poco’s gets their championship series started with an RBI single from Tony Cabot and Eric Schade as well as a Ryan Hamilton sac fly. Wackers will come back with a two run bomb from Jay Pane to cut that lead to one, which is then wiped out by a Ricky Kelly RBI single. RBI singles from Mary Kate Smith, Bill Shallcross and Jenn Sevitski give Wackers an 8-3 lead. Poco’s will get a run back before Wackers come back for four more runs. Kelly adds another run on a single, while Chase Luxton adds a run on a double. Adam Lightkep rounds out the scoring with a sac fly. Poco’s will cut the deficit to five after an Eric Schade RBI single and Bill Stone RBI walk. But back come Wackers just wacking away. Rick Kelly smashes a three run bomb while Bill Brancato smashes a two run bomb. Poco’s get a couple runs back in the seventh and try to fight back, but will fall short in game one. Wackers win 20-9.

Game #2 – Wackers vs. Poco’s
Game 2 gets started with a big couple innings for Wackers, as they push across 12 runs. Brancato stayed hot at the plate with a two run homer and two run triple. Dan Vescovi and Doubles Nonny had RBI doubles, while Jay Pane, Kelly, Lightkep and Sevikski all had RBI singles. Poco’s can only manage on run across the same two innings, but will get going in the third. Eric Schade had a two run double, while Stone, Cabot and Jamie Richards have RBI singles. Poco’s will then go quiet for a few innings. Wackers will keep on going. Lightkep and Shallcross go back to back with RBI singles followed by a two run double from Vescovi as they lead 16-8. We fast forward to the seventh to see Wackers tack on four insurance runs. Chase Luxton adds two runs on a double as they lead 21-8. Poco’s come out in the bottom of the inning firing. Cabot brings in a run on a single, followed by a two run single from Ryan Hamilton. Kris Eve will then step up and clear the bases with a triple. Bill Hamill nets another run on an RBI single. Poco’s will get close, but just fall short in this one and fall in the series. Wackers will take it 21-15.
