Game #1 – The Sillies vs. The Runs

The Sillies will strike first with two RBI singles from Kris Karaba and Andrew Wekheiser as they take a 2-0 lead. Runs will grab a run back in the second on a big sac fly from Jade Hughes. Runs will grab the lead an inning later on a three run bomb off the bat of Jason Exner. Erik Cuasno added one more on a sac fly. Back comes Sillies as they post a monster fourth inning grabbing six in total. Bill Hamlet starts the scoring with a two run double, followed by a Kevin Johnson two run bomb. Kris Karaba then smacks a solo shot deep into the quarry woods before Werkheiser ends the inning with an RBI double. Things will get more comfortable for Sillies in the sixth when they push across six more runs. 4 straight RBI singles from Karaba, Andy Yurkanin, Jess McCorry and Werkheiser do the damange, while Josh Owens also add two on a single. Silles will run away late and take the drive down to Hatfield to see if they can win their semifinal game. Sillies win 17-8.

Player of the Game:
Kevin Johnson (Sillies) - 3/44, 2B, 3B, HR, 2 RBI’s

Game #2 – Knuckleheads vs. Mott-Ley Crew

Knuckleheads will step to the plate first and grab a quick three run lead on a three-run bomb from Jon Poore. Crew can only manage one run back on a sac fly from Jon Motts. Crew will also get a run in the second on a couple hits and an error. Knuckleheads get back on the scoring train in the third, with back to back RBI doubles from Poore and Mike Koelzer. A Rich Zupkuksy grand slam will increase their lead even more in the fourth inning. Ben Razzi gets the fifth started with a sac fly before L Wood smacks in a run on a single. Zupkusky will grab another run on a single, before Matt Bookheimer knocks in two runs on a single. Knuckleheads are starting to pull away and get the kill shot with a Poore two run bomb in the seventh. Jon Motts does his best to keep Crew in the game with a three run bomb late, but this game is all Knuckleheads. Knuckleheads win 20-10.

Game #3 – Wackers vs. Poco’s

Wackers will get the dub here as Poco’s can’t field a team tonight.

Game #4 – Maize vs. Wehrung’s

The last game of the night is our spotlight game of the night and it did not disappoint. Maize will jump out to a quick four runs on an Austin Grasso RBI triple, Matt Bugenhagen RBI double and an error. Wehrung’s will cut that in half on solo bomb from Luke Hendrick’s and an error. Both teams would score two in the second inning keeping this game a two run game. Maize grab four in the third on a two run triple from Aaron Worthington, then gets two more on a Wil Marsden double and Wil Das single respectively. But again, back come Wehrung’s. Doug Moninghoff and Luke Hendricks both smashed homers in the inning. Maize will explode for seven runs in the fifth, paced by RBI singles from Bugenhagen, Worthington, Troy Kaluder and Das. Grasso also added a run on a double as Maize hold a three-run lead. That lead is eliminated by an Emily Grimm RBI single and then another Hendricks bomb, this time a three-run bomb. We are all square heading to the sixth. This is where Wehrung’s would get back on top, getting a run on an error then Moninghoff RBI double. Wehrung’s would hold it done defensively and steal this game late as they move on to the championship. Wehrung’s win 19-17.
