Game #1 – Wehrungs vs. Carrolls


Wehrungs will strike first in this championship series getting an RBI single from Cindy Snyder then scoring two more runs on a fielder's choice from Adam Hendricks. We would go scoreless until the third inning when Wehrungs will grab one more run on an Emily Grim RBI double. Carrolls get on the board in the fourth with an Ali Thies RBI single making this a 4-1 game heading into the fifth inning. Wehrung’s bumps that lead back up after a solo bomb from Paul Muth and a two-run hit from Grimm, her second and third RBIs of the game. Greg Lesher delivers a two-run bomb from Carrolls in the sixth, but it won’t be enough in game one as Wehrungs pours on four more runs in the seventh. Luke Hendricks gets to the party with a grand slam as they will take game one and be one game away from a championship. Wehrungs win 12-4.

Game #2 – Carrolls vs. Wehrungs

Carrolls come out fighting with two runs on back-to-back RBI singles from Bryan Bart and Brian Sauers as they look to even up the series. Wehrungs stay hot at the plate and grab six runs in the bottom of the inning. Adam Hendricks and Lowell Snyder each have RBI singles and Wyatt Schilling knocks in three runs on a triple. Carrolls will chip away in the second and third getting an RBI single from Lauren Kleachick and two run homer Bart as they trail by one heading into the fourth. Carrolls take their first lead of the day in the fourth getting RBI singles from Sarah Yoos and Greg Lesher, an RBI double from Bill Shipe, all setting up a three-run bomb from Bart. Carrolls start to step up defensively and really shut down Wehrungs in this second game. Brian Sauers adds a late two run bomb as they will hold off and win this second game sending us to a decisive game three. Carrolls win 13-7.

Game #3 – Wehrungs vs. Carrolls

Carrolls come out with three runs across the first two innings on a Lesher two run bomb and Kelly Gallagher RBI single while shutting down Wehrungs with the gloves. Carrolls lead 3-0 heading into the fourth inning. Wehrungs will get going here now. Doug Moninghoff knocks in a run on a single and Luke Hendricks will draw a bases loaded walk to tie this game up. Wehrungs will grab the lead in the fifth by batting around and scoring seven in total. Paul Muth and Jillian Moninghoff have RBI singles while Cindy Snyder and Luke Hendricks bring in runs on bases loaded walks. Carrolls had also gotten two runs in the sixth on a Lesher bomb his second homer of the game. We head to the seventh inning with Wehrungs leading 12-5. Lowell Snyder will get a hit for Wehrungs to try and add an insurance run, but that is quickly shot down by the Carrolls defense. Carrols come out looking for a rally and can only manage one baserunner on a Bob McClintok single and would fall just short. Wehrungs will hold on and hoist that Summer Trophy as they are crowned the champs.
