Game 1: 4th seed The Commission dba Silly Boys vs 5th seed To Be Determined
TBD starts out slow and scores just 2 in the 1st 3 innings. Commish, meanwhile, plate 9. Brendan Parker doubles and homers driving in 4, and Cody Runner doubles. TBD wakes up in the 4th and bats around, scoring 7. Jimmy Weigers and Matt Bound both double, and Steven Gebre homers. Commish add 2 in the bottom of the 4th and 1 more in the 6th, while TBD adds 2 of their own in the 6th on Tyler Dalzell's 2 run triple. It's all tied after the top of the 6th. Commish breaks the tie in the bottom with a single run, but then TBD retakes the lead in the top of the 7th. Commish ties it up in the bottom after Parker doubles and scores on Runner's RBI single. All tied inthe top of the 8th, TBD goes down in order. In the bottom, Commish get a leadoff single from Phil Black to score the ghost runner (Cody Runner), and this game is over in dramatic fashion. Commish wins, 14-13.
Game 2: 3rd seed Wire2Wire Sports Podcast vs 6th seed Beers
Beers muster 5 runs in the 1st 3 innings with Connor MacFarlane ripping a 3 run homer. Wire2Wire plate 11 in the same timeframe. Tom Signore homers and Alex Freeman doubles along with Kris Karaba. Beers add 4 in the top of the 5th after Ryan Maley homers and MacFarlane and Scott Runzer go back-to-back with triples. Will 9 runs be enough to beat Wire2Wire? We shall see... Wire2Wire score 7 in the 4th and 6 in the 5th, so no. Brian Dart doubles, and Freeman doubles again. Wire2Wire win easily, 24-9.
Game 3: 4th seed Commish vs top seed and undefeated Kings Corner
Commish blast out 9 runs in the 1st 3 frames. Tom Koezler bangs out a double and homers, knocking in 5 runs. Greg Thomspon smacks an RBI double. Kings Corner plate just 6 in the same. Matt Schaub doubles. Commish add one more in the 4th, but Kings corner ties it up in the bottom. Schaub doubles again, Jason Pane doubles, and Justin Miller triples. All tied up in the bottom of the 6th, Kings Corner takes a 4 run lead. Mike Capacchione doubles along with Pane again. Needing 4 to tie, Commish leave 1 on base and go quietly into the night. Kings Corner wins 14-10 and goes on to the 'Chip next week!
Game 4: 3rd seed Wire2Wire vs 2nd seed Philly Junk
Wire2Wire plate 5 runs in the 1st 3 innings. Jacob McDevitt and Kris Karaba both double. Philly Junk score just 4 in the same. Brandon Birkhead homers, knocking in 3, and Vinny Catagnus triples. Wire2Wire extend their lead to 2 in the 4th with McDevitt doubling again, and Tom Signore knocking him in with a triple. Philly Junk ties it in the bottom with KC Ingram homering. Wire2Wire retake the lead in the 5th with 1 run. Philly Junk takes the lead back in the bottom with 2 runs. Tyler Gower doubles in both runs. Wire2Wire gets serious in the 6th and scores 7 on a slew of singles. Philly Junk fights back and cuts the lead to 2 in the bottom. Pat Kelley homers, Jason Ashworth doubles, and Brandon Birkhead homers again, knocking in 3. Wire2Wire adds 3 insurance runs in the top of the 7th. Alex Freeman doubles along with McDevitt (his 3rd of the game). Needing 5 to tie and 6 to walk it off, Philly Junk gets the 1st 2 on with singles, and Pat Kelley knocks them and himself in with a 3-run dinger. They get 2 more on base after that, but strand them there. Wire2Wire holds on for the upset and a trip to the championship game next week, 17-15.
