Game 1: Dark Horse vs Stiff Sox

Dark Horse won by forfeit over Stiff Sox 7-0.

Game 2: One Hit Wonders vs Swingers

One Hit Wonders won by forfeit over Swingers 7-0.

Game 3: One Hit Wonders vs Wire 2 Wire

Wire 2 Wire took an early lead 1-0 in the top of the 1st on a fielder’s choice. One Hit Wonders fired back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st on singles by Dan Cripps and Andy Springer and a double by Bill Groff. In the bottom of the 3rd One Hit Wonders scored another run to extend their lead to 4-1 after a single by Jack Stepnowski. Wire 2 Wire would tie the game in the top of the 4th on a single by Derek Acker and homeruns by Jake Haber and Tom Signore. That tie would not last long as One Hit Wonders scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th on a single by Jimmy Cooker and a homer run by Andy Springer. One Hit Wonders would add two more in the bottom half of the 5th on a single by Dan Cripps to extend their lead to 10-4. Wire 2 Wire would not go away quietly scoring two in the top of the 6th on a sac fly and a double by Jacob McDevitt to make it 10-6 One Hit Wonders. One Hit Wonders would add some insurance in the bottom of the 6th scoring 4 runs on 5 singles and a three run RBI triple by Jared Owens. Wire 2 Wire could not thwart a comeback as One Hit Wonders won the game 14-6.

Game 4: Doc’s Irish Pub vs Wire 2 Wire

Wire 2 Wire came out hot as they scored 10 runs in the first three innings. Leading the way was Jake Haber with an RBI single and a homerun, Derek Acker had a homerun, Jeff Judge had two RBI singles, Beau Ziegler with a double and an RBI single and an RBI double by Tom Signore to put Wire 2 Wire up 10-0 after three. Wire 2 Wire added on 6 more in the top of the 4th on a Ziegler three run homer and a three run RBI sac fly by Haber. Doc’s would get on the board in the bottom of the 4th on a single by Austin Kooker. They would add two more runs the next two innings on a walk and an error, but it would not be nearly enough as the game ended by run rule after six thanks to a triple by Acker and a fielder’s choice to add two more runs for Wire 2 Wire to push Wire 2 Wire’s lead by 15 runs. Wire 2 Wire wins big 18-3 over Doc’s Irish Pub.

Game 5: Pitches Be Trippin vs Palz Tap House

Matt Horn and Anthony Perretti singled in the first to give Pitches Be Trippin an early 1-0 lead. Ryan Nakonieczny, Chris Crookham, Bob Jacob and Steve Dixon would all single for Palz in the top of the 2nd as they scored four runs to take the lead over Pitches Be Trippin 4-1. Dennis Kelly homered in the bottom of the 2nd to narrow Pitches Be Trippin’s deficit to 4-3. Pitches Be Trippin would retake the lead in the third on a couple of homers by Bobby Schollie and Paul Giampoli and a triple by Matt Horn to take an 8-4 lead. Palz would answer back scoring 5 runs in the 4th on a single by Crookham and doubles by Nakonieczny and Louie Knoebel as Palz took the lead back 9-8. The lead would not last as Pitches Be Trippin kept hitting scoring 4 runs in the bottom half of the 4th on three singles and a triple by Perretti to go up 12-9. This would prove to be the deciding factor as neither team scored the rest of the way. Pitches Be Trippin wins a back-and-forth game over Palz 12-9.

Game 6: Purple Cobras vs Pitches Be Trippin

Both teams got off to quick starts on offense as both teams scored three runs in the 1st. Paul Abendroth’s single and Kris Karaba’s double led the way for Pitches Be Trippin while Steve Gardner’s single and Mike Corrigan’s double evened it up for Purple Cobras. Pitches Be Trippin took the lead in the third after they scored three runs on a sac fly and singles by Karaba and Dennis Kelly to go up 6-3 over Purple Cobras. A sac fly in the bottom of the fourth for Purple Cobras shrunk the gap to two. Paul Abendroth would homer in the 5th to give Pitches Be Trippin a 7-4 lead. Purple Cobras would not go away as Dave Clayton doubled in the bottom half of the inning to keep their deficit at two runs. Dennis Kelly homered in the 6th to extend Pitches Be Trippin lead again to 8-5. A sac fly by CJ Brancato in the bottom of the 6th made the score 8-6 Pitches Be Trippin with one inning to go. Pitches Be Trippin added some insurance runs in the top of the 7th on a sac fly and a two-run RBI triple by Anthony Perretti. This proved to be big as Purple Cobras scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th on a couple walks and singles by Nick Rodriguez and Tom Friedman which would have tied the game up. Pitches Be Trippin answered the call each inning and won in the end 11-8 over Purple Cobras.
