Game 1: Vertex vs. Bird Gang

Vertex plates five runs in the top of the first on singles, a double by Bill Brancato, and an Alex Freeman RBI triple. BG answers with a run in the bottom of the first. Bill Brancato rips an RBI double for Vertex in the top of the second. Singles lead to three runs for BG in the bottom of the third. Vertex adds two runs in the top of the fifth with a Joe M RBI double. Mark R smokes an RBI double for BG in the bottom of the fifth. A leadoff triple by Luke nets Vertex two runs in the top of the sixth. Vertex takes the first game, 12-5.

Game 2: Bird Gang vs. Vertex

BG gets three runs in the top of the first with a Pat M RBI double, and a solo homer by Jason McLaughlin. Vertex answers with a run in the bottom of the first. BG scores five runs in the top of the fifth on singles, a double by Jason McLaughlin, and a John Erb two run homer. Back to back doubles by Alex F and Mike C help Vertex add three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Mark R rips an RBI double for BG in the top of the sixth. Three runs cross the plate for Vertex in the bottom of the sixth. A leadoff triple by Jason McLaughlin nets LB a run in the top of the seventh. Vertex rallies for five runs in the bottom of the seventh with Joe M blasting a two run homer. Vertex walks it off to take game two, 13-11, and the A summer title.

B South

Game 1: Chroma Crushers vs. Pigeon Boyz

David Putman jacks a two run homer for CC in the top of the first. PB answers with five runs in the bottom of the first on singles. PB puts up six runs in the bottom of the second with RBI doubles by Mike Gilbert and Dan Scrima. CC bats around in the top of the fifth to plate four runs thanks to a two run triple by David Putman. Back to back RBI doubles by Peter Almlof and David Putman leads to three runs for CC in the top of the sixth. PB adds six runs in the bottom of the sixth thanks to RBI doubles by Mike Gilbert and Dan Scrima, and a Cody Miller two run homer. The Pigeon Boyz take the first game, 19-12.

Game 2: Pigeon Boyz vs. Chroma Crushers

Vinnie Vescio jacks a two run homer for PB in the top of the first. CC answers with two runs in the bottom of the first. PB bats around in the top of the second to score eight runs with a two run triple by Mike Gilbert, and a Cody Miller three run homer. CC bats around in the bottom of the second to plate seven runs on walks and singles. CC bats around again in the bottom of the third to push TWELVE runs across on walks, singles, a two run double by Jared Hess, and a Matt Poust RBI triple. PB puts up five runs in the top of the fourth with a two run double by Dan Scrima. Walks lead to three runs on walks in the bottom of the fourth. PB rallies for four runs in the top of the seventh on singles. CC plates three more runs on walks and singles in the bottom of the sixth. The Chroma Crushers use a lot of walks to score a lot of runs to take the second game, 28-23.

Game 3: Chroma Crushers vs. Pigeon Boyz

Mike Gilbert rips an RBI triple for PB in the bottom of the first. David Putman and Jared Hess smash homers for CC in the top of the second. PB scores two runs in the bottom of the second. CC adds two runs in the top of the third. A leadoff triple by Casey Holloway nets PB a run in the bottom of the fifth. The Pigeon Boyz wins game 3, 8-5, and the summer B title.
