Game 1: Doc's vs One Hit Wonders
One Hit Wonders got on the board first in the top of the 1st, scoring one run on an RBI single by Jack Stepnowski to take a 1-0 lead over Doc's after the first. After holding One Hit Wonders scoreless in the top of the 2nd, Doc's would score two runs in the bottom of the 2nd on a two-run homer by Dylan Brooks take a 2-1 lead after the second. Doc's would not look back after this as they held One Hit Wonders scoreless the rest of the way. Doc's would score one run in the bottom of the 4th on an error and then five runs in the bottom of the 6th on a two-run homer by Austin Kooker, RBI single by Brett Keszczyk and a couple of fielder's choices as they defeated One Hit Wonders 8-1.
Game 2: Stiff Sox vs One Hit Wonders
One Hit Wonders looked to bounce back after a tough first game and they got off to a great start scoring three runs in the top of the 1st on RBI singles by Rob Gisondi and Jimmy Cooker and a sac fly. Stiff Sox would come out cold and did not score the first three innings. One Hit Wonders would add three more runs in each the 2nd and 3rd innings on RBI singles by Jared Owens and Mike Trivino, RBI double by Dave Carson and homers by Andrew Bougher and Cooker to take a 9-0 lead after three. One Hit Wonders would add four more runs in the top of the 4th on an RBI single by Trivino and a three-run homer by Springer. Stiff Sox would finally get on the board in the bottom of the 4th on as they scored three runs on a Brian DeLucas homer to make it 13-3 One Hit Wonders after the fourth. Stiff Sox would add another run in the bottom of the 5th on a sac fly to bring the score to 13-4 One Hit Wonders after the fifth. One Hit Wonders would get a couple runs back in the top of the 6th on an RBI single by Jack Stepnowski a fielder's choice. Stiff Sox would answer with one run on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the 6th as they still trailed 15-5 after six. One Hit Wonders would put the game away in the top of the 7th as they scored four more runs on RBI singles by Gisondi, Bougher and an RBI double by Jesse Grasso to go up 19-5 withe three outs to go. Stiff Sox got a couple runs in the bottom of the 7th on homers by Andrew Bertolino and Nick Purshock, but it would not be enough as One Hit Wonders got the final out with the final score being 19-7 One Hit Wonders.
Game 3: Stiff Sox vs Red Stallion
Red Stallion forfeits, Stiff Sox wins 7-0.
Game 4: Purple Cobras vs Ereptile Dysfunction
Ereptile Dysfunction would go down in order in the top of the 1st. Purple Cobras would bat around in the bottom of the 1st as they scored five runs on RBI doubles by Steve Gardner, Jordan Roman and Tim Gardner to take a 5-0 lead over Ereptile Dysfunction after the first. Ereptile Dysfunction would get three runs back in the top of the 2nd on an RBI single by Mike Heilding and an RBI double by Jon Altomare. Purple Cobras would add four more runs in the bottom of the 2nd on RBI singles by Tim Gardner, Matt Meindl and Dan Roman and an RBI double by Jordan Roman to take a 9-3 lead after the second. In the top of the 3rd, Ereptile would score four runs on RBI singles by Dane Nealls, Pat Echevarria and Matt Bellizze and a sac fly as they cut their deficit to 9-7 Purple Cobras after the third. In the top of the 4th, Ereptile would score three more runs on an RBI triple by Tyler Fornwalt, a homer by Ryan Echevarria and a sac fly to take the lead. The lead would not last as Purple Cobras would score three runs in the bottom of the 4th on RBI doubles by Dan Roman and Steve Gardner to take the lead back at 12-10. In the top of the 5th, Ereptile would answer with two runs on an RBI single by Jim Kullmann and an RBI double by Altomare to tie the game at 12-12. Again, Purple Cobras would answer right back as they scored three runs in the bottom of the 5th on RBI doubles again by Dan Roman and Steve Gardner as well as an error to take a 15-12 lead after the fifth. Neither team would score in the 6th which brought Ereptile down to their final three outs and down three runs. After getting two men on with no outs, Altomare delivered a two-run RBI triple to bring them to within one and the tying run on third. After an out, Ryan Echavarria hit an RBI double to tie the game and put the go-ahead run-in scoring position. A flyout and groundout ended the threat which gave Purple Cobras a chance to walk it off in the bottom of the seventh. I am not sure what happened, but Purple Cobras was allowed to score four runs before the game ended on RBI doubles by Tim Gardner and Rey Jimenez and an RBI triple by Tom Friedman as Purple Cobras defeated Ereptile Dysfunction 19-15.
Game 5: Dark Horse vs Pitches Be Trippin
Pitches Be Trippin got on the board first in the top of the 1st on RBI singles by Anthony Perretti and Paul Abendroth to score two runs. Dark Horse would answer with five of their own on RBI double by Mike Suda and homers by John Hogan and Sean McCloskey to take a 5-2 lead after the first. Dark Horse would add another five runs in the bottom of the 2nd on RBI singles by Ryan Schock and Hogan and an RBI double by Dave Ketterlinus and a sac fly to go up 10-2 after the second. Pitches Be Trippin would get back in the game in the 3rd and 4th innings as they scored a combined five runs on RBI singles by Kevin Levonian, Matt Sheehan and Paul Abendroth and an RBI triple by Kris Karaba as they held Dark Horse scoreless and only trailed 10-7 after the fourth. Dark Horse would add two runs in the bottom of the 5th on an RBI double by McCloskey to go up 12-7 after the fifth. Both teams failed to score in the 6th and now Pitches Be Trippin needed at least 5 runs to extend the game. After 2 quick outs, Pitches Be Trippin started singling it up and scored two runs after RBI singles by Karaba and Abendroth to put the tying run at the plate with 2 outs. A flyout would end the threat as Dark Horse hangs on to beat Pitches Be Trippin 12-9.
