Game #1 – GFP vs. Muckdogs
GFP comes out strong with four runs on an RBI single from Ian Cuzzo and RBI triple from Eric Schade. Muckdogs would go down without any runs in the first inning and both teams wouldn’t score in the second inning. GFP will get back to scoring in the third as they push across four more runs. Alex Freeman gets the scoring started with an RBI double, followed by an RBI single from Bill Brancato. Cuzzo also smashes a two-run bomb to make this an 8-1 game. Muckdogs really struggle in this one, only scoring one run in the entire game. Two sac flies from Bill Brancato and Cuzzo will pace two more runs, but GFP will end this game in the sixth, as they get six more runs. Nonnnenneeemacher will provide the big hit with a bases clearing triple, somehow not a homer. GFP runs away and wins this one 16-1.
Player of the Game:
Sean NONNEMMacherRRR (GFP) – 3/4, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI’s
Game #2 – Bar Closers vs. GFP
Bar Closers start off hot getting two runs out of that gate with a two-run single from Stefano Giuliani. That is where things would go ice cold for the Bar Closers and everything would go red hot for GFP. GFP will have a quiet first inning, not getting any runs, but will push across seven runs in the second. Shady will start the scoring with an RBI double, which is followed up a batter later on a Tess Frelich two run bomb (better than Joey). Four straight RBI hits from Adam Lightkep, Nonny, Freeman and Luxton will round out the inning. Tess would be back at it again in the third, this time an RBI triple, followed by a Dan Vescovi RBI double. The rest of the game would be all GFP as they continue to swing the bat well. Luxton would add another RBI and Shady would add two more RBI’s. GFP wins 17-2.
Player of the Game:
Tess Frelich (GFP) - 3/3, 3B, HR, 3 RBI’s
Game #3 – Bar Closers vs. Dirty Balls
Bar Closers look to get going in this game better than their first big defeat and will come out to push nine runs across in the first two innings. Ed Reynolds and Jack Milito will bring in runs on singles, Joe Perry will bring in two runs on a single and Kevin Udris will clear the bases with a double. Dirty Balls will have just as big and bigger first two innings as they will score 14 total runs. Tim Frei will bring in a total on five RBI’s on two doubles, Sean Murphy will bring in a run on a triple and smash a two-run homer and Nick Piggott will bring in two runs on a double to highlight some of the big hits. From there, Bar Closers again would go cold, and Dirty Balls would keep it rolling. Tim Gluck gets into the action with a two run double, while Mark Rothenberger brings in a run on a double and two runs on a triple. Dirty Balls will keep rallying late and win this one. Dirty Balls win 25-10.
Player of the Game:
Sean Murphy (Dirty Balls) - 3/44, 2B, 3B, HR, 4 RBI’s
Game #4 – Garges vs. Dirty Balls
The last game of the night would be one that went sideways right from the beginning. Dirty Balls would keep their hot hitting alive from their first game as they come out with seven runs right out of the gate. Mark Rothenberger starts it with an RBI double, while Jenn Sevitsky and Andrea bring in runs on RBI singles. The second inning brings even more offense for Dirty Balls, this time smashing in ten runs. Andrea will bring in another two runs, while Rothenberger brings in another two runs. Murphy will also bring in a run on a double and Piggott brings in two runs on a double. Not much to report for Garges as they get a late run on a Aaron Worthington RBI single, but that is about all they have tonight. Dirty Balls will run away with this game and win 19-1.
Player of the Game:
Andrea Ramanuo (Dirty Balls) - 2/3, 3 RBI’s
Player of the Week:
Tess Frelich (GFP) - 5/6, 3B, HR, 4 RBI’s
