Game 1: One Hit Wonders vs Purple Cobras

Purple Cobras comes out of the gate early scoring two in the top of the 1st with doubles by Brandon Roman, Mike Corrigan and Bill Brancato. One Hit Wonders strikes back scoring two of their own with singles by Dan Cripps, Andy Springer, Rob Gisondi and Bill Groff. Neither team was able to take control of the game in the 2nd and 3rd innings as both teams failed to plate a run. Purple Cobras scored one in the top of the 4th on an RBI triple from Corey Larwa. One Hit Wonders took control in the 4th with a leadoff double from Tom O'Neill followed by an RBI double from Jesse Grasso. One Hit Wonders continued the scoring with an RBI single from Springer and an RBI triple from Gisondi. One Hit Wonders struggled the rest of the game and did not score a run in the 5th,6th or 7th inning. That opened the door for the Purple Cobras to pull ahead in the top of the 5th as they put up 4 runs including a three run RBI double by Corrigan. Purple Cobras added two more runs in the seventh after a triple by Corrigan. Purple Cobras top One Hit Wonders 9-5.

Game 2: Doc's vs Wire 2 Wire

Wire 2 Wire opened the scoring in the 1st after a triple by Ben Vitelli who then scored on an error. Doc's went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 1st keeping the score at 1-0. Wire 2 Wire kept the runs going in the 2nd plating six runs including an RBI single by Jason Falcone, two run RBI double by Adrian Reyes and another two run RBI single by Vitelli. Doc's closed the gap in the bottom of the 2nd scoring four runs after Dylan Brooks led off with a triple. He then scored on a Ryan Black single followed by a two run RBI single by Joe Giampietro and sac fly by Austin Kooker to make the score 7-4 in favor of Wire 2 Wire. In the top of the 3rd Wire 2 Wire continued to add on with a two run RBI double from Brett Anker, RBI singles from Reyes and Jacob McDevitt. Doc's struggled to have a big inning in the 3rdand 4th innings only managing to add two runs. Wire 2 Wire added 3 more runs in the 5th including RBI doubles by Gene Walczak and Anker, as well as an RBI single from Vitelli. Doc's could not score in the 5th leaving a big hole for them as the score was 15-6. Wire 2 added 2 more on the 6th after a Pat Downey sac fly and another RBI single from Vitelli. Doc's countered adding two of their own on RBI singles by Brett Keszczyk and Aj Bagushinski. Wire 2 Wire would put the game out of reach adding six more in the 7th with RBI singles by Pat Downey and Derrick Acker. Doc's added 3 in the 7th on a 3-run homer by Paul Elliot. Wire 2 Wire takes the game 23-11.


Game 3: Purple Cobras vs Wire 2 Wire

Wire 2 Wire got off to a slow start during their second game of the day scoring 0 runs the first two innings. Purple Cobras took advantage, jumping out to an early lead in the first scoring four runs including an RBI single by Dan Roman and an RBI triple by Steve Gardner. Purple Cobras failed to score in the second. Wire 2 Wire flipped the switch in the top of the 3rd with a two run RBI triple by Jacob McDevitt and RBI singles by Sean Butrica and Derrick Acker as they scored eight runs to take a four-run lead. Purple Cobras stayed put in the bottom of the third leaving the score at 8-4. Wire 2 Wire then went cold and could not score in the 4th,5th and 6th innings. Steve Gardner homered in the 4th for the Cobras to cut the lead to three. The Purple Cobras then took over the game scoring six in the 5th inning on a two run RBI double by Corrigan, two run homer by Brancato and an RBI triple by Gardner to take an 11-8 lead. With their backs against the wall down three, Wire 2 Wire came through scoring three runs to tie the game at 11 on a leadoff HR by Acker, and Vitelli and Walczak RBI singles. With the game tied at 11, the Purple Cobras had a chance to walk it off and they did just that after Corrigan scored on an error to end the game. Purple Cobras wins a nail biter 12-11 against Wire 2 Wire.

Game 4: Wolf Pack vs Dark Dogs

Dark Dogs was able to get all their players to reach base in the first and scored 10 runs. Leading the way was Mike Suda, Paul Harding, Bill Jones, Dave Ketterlinus and Nick Mariana as they had RBI singles in the first. Wolf Pack was able to get a run back in the first after a leadoff double by Matt Horn. This would be the only offense Wolf Pack would have on the day as they would not score the next two innings. Dark Dogs continued to add on in the second with five more runs including an RBI single from Paul Ferruzzi. Dark Dogs then added 8 more runs in the third on RBI singles from Jordan Moffett, Mariana, Peter Burns and Jones. Dark Dogs win in three innings 23-1.
