Thursday Evening Men's / Summer 2026

The official Thursday Evening Men's schedule for the Summer 2026 season is now posted. Access the schedule from the main Softball America webpage or click here... Thursday Evening Men's

As a direct result of A Division players moving to other A Division teams, the Commission has had no choice but to pull out of the Thursday league. With only 3 A teams left, CSA has chosen not to play. With only 2 A teams remaining, finding a place for them to play in SBA is impossible. As a result, the Thursday league will turn into a 9-team B-league-only affair.

People that know me know I am a very accommodating, tolerant, and understanding individual. I have always managed to find a place for all teams to play in the league in one format or another. In this case, my hands are tied and not being able to accommodate everyone hurts me.

The maximum number of all-stars on any current Thursday B team is 3. Beginning with the summer season, the all-star limit will be set at 5 per team, down from the previous 7 per team. This will act as a roster governor to prevent teams from stacking which in turn will keep the level of competition realistic and help to avoid the issues of the past.

Setting the all-star limit at 7 twenty five years ago was a mistake I've come to regret. It was fine for a number of years, but it got out of hand. I knew that then, but didn't have the heart to break teams up by dropping the number to 5. The opportunity has presented itself on Thursday so I am taking advantage of it. When the same opportunity presents itself in the Sunday and Tuesday Men's leagues, I will pounce on that opportunity.

Regular Season
With 9 teams, each team will play each other 1 time. With 2 ball fields, we will play 3 games at the Quarry and 3 games at Hatfield over the course of 6 weeks. There will be no 10:15 games unless partial postponements cause a rescheduling.

Post Season
The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 seeds at the end of the regular season will compete in a playoff tournament. The playoff tournament finalists will move to the 2/3 A Division Championship Final.
